Ok guys/gals im going to make a build thread for my '86 SR5 Ext Cab 22RTE truck. even though its not getting a whole lot done to it becuase its going to be somewhat of a dd (daily driver). To start here is how i got it (minus the drop in bed liner) [/IMG] From there i got 4x4 Fenders, 2" drop spindels, 3" drop blocks and lower sitting rear shocks. This was still stock height but 4x4 fenders installed (using just this side for comparission also) Here is how it sits as of now... on a side note, took me 3hrs to get the left fender the way i wanted 2.. now im going to buy a muffler so i can get the MC hauler inspected and i can drive her agian. But im lookin to throw steelies (all the way around) on it for spindle clearence reasons. I have an idea of how i want the paint to look (rattle can) so this is it for now..
dunno what your planning on doing rim wise but remember I called dibs on the sr5's u got on now lol.. looking good so far. what are you going to haul in it ?
yep i remember i want to see how they look on my speedy truck first. if i dont like how they look, u will be getting a pm .. i plan to use it to haul my bikes around, hence Motorcycle hauler. this is the main reason i bought the truck or when im going a far distance. helps save the tires or atleast the tire life on the buell.. and just what ever else comes up. im tryin to get to a friends house to see if he will do my welding for me, best welder IMO in my area and i dont mind payin extra for the great work he does. also getting the bed line-xed once the welding is done, but until then i will kill the surface rust in the bed and do what ever other body work can be done until then..
That is just about the twin to my 87 truck. What color interior does it have in it? I would love to see some engine pics. Jake
its interior is like a blueish color. the engine bay is umm..dirty, i will be doin some needed cleanin to the motor when the weather gets a bit nicer, that or when i go to do the valve cover gasket and readjust the rocker (some valve tap). but if you really want some i can get them for you...
Whenever you get around to it that would be great. If you are interested in it I have a factory turbo to throttle body tube with a HKS SSBOV welded into it. I am replacing it with a factory tube as soon as I get it out of powdercoat. I am going to be putting the modified tube up for sale. Jake
ok, np, will do it tomorrow as my truck sits at my unit and cameras at home. Could you take a pic of the modified tube? Any particular engine shots you need btw?
I will take some pictures today since I drove it into work. Just need to wait for the sun to come up. Don't have anyway you do audio of the BOV though. I have had them on so many vehicles I am getting tired of the noise. Jake
I have no data to support my answer but I would say no. I have had it on there for about a year now and I have not noticed any difference in the spooling of the truck. The only thing you get at stock boost is the sound. Its why I am removing it. Jake
ok here are the requested pics.. <a href="http://s459.photobucket.com/albums/qq313/frinzo/86%20Turbo/?action=view¤t=P1000257.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq313/frinzo/86%20Turbo/P1000257.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s459.photobucket.com/albums/qq313/frinzo/86%20Turbo/?action=view¤t=P1000258.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq313/frinzo/86%20Turbo/P1000258.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> <a href="http://s459.photobucket.com/albums/qq313/frinzo/86%20Turbo/?action=view¤t=P1000259.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i459.photobucket.com/albums/qq313/frinzo/86%20Turbo/P1000259.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> if u need anymore jsut hollar
I think it looks great. I like starting from a unmolested place. That truck is original and un-screwed with. Nice score. Any factory parts you take off let me know and I will most likley buy them from you. Jake
