Just came across this idea, after some searching i believe with the right tools and patience anyone could do this. Open to thoughts.....
Yea seen it when I was checking out sticker bombing ideas they sell it in any color and texture so you can do carbon fiber, ostrich skin, alligator, chrome any of the flats or semi flats and there's vinyles out there they guarantee will last ten years. Thought about doing mine in carbon fiber
Ive seen a daily driver Benz in Santa Monica not too long ago done in white carbon fiber. It was done 11 months ago and there were signs of lifting in corners and tiny bubbling. Looked great from 10 ft away. I would assume it will last longer on a show car.
Yea it all depends on who does it how clean the cars surface is and making sure you don't over stretch it to get it to cover otherwise it will shrink and then pull back or lift the show gas monkey did a mercury I think it was that was a fox body and wrapped it in chrome looked pretty slick but I saw a gold porch a that was rapped and from far away it looked crazy but up close you could see there overlaps just depends on how good you are
my boy wraps cars and trucks all the time. one guy daily drives his charger that was wrapped and it sits out in the 120* heat during the summer, attends shows and what not. no signs of lifting or bubbling at all. my boy also takes his time too. he will spend an entire day cleaning and degreasing the car and a few more days to get everything laid out and done well. just recently finished up a b8 84 from its original black to a matte white.
Yea we do commercial accounts at my shop and I see cars trucks and utility vans that are beat up and raged out and there vinyl is still holding up fine thought about doing my truck instead of painting it
