update on this thing

got some parts for the 4x4 front end still collecting =) ipad dash panel put back in but ive been thinking about selling it and doing a double din... not sure yet!

 

i love the Ipad idea, but i would have mounted it sideways to clear the vents, and cover up the clock. who needs it when you have a giant ass ipad? lol

i just have a little phone holder in my whip that suctions onto the windshield and i bluetooth my music to the head unit. same concept kinda. lol

damn wish i could find a seet of grey 4x4/runner fenders to slap on my truck!!

 

I wanted to go sideways but only way to do so and still have the dock connector would be making it so wide the glove box wouldn't open or the e brake would be useless lol vertical is the best option for these truck IMO. This gets audio out threw the dock connector into a 7 band equalizer for now eventually I want to put a good sound processor in here... Maybe a Rockford fosgate 3sixty.3! I may do Bluetooth in the future but for now just rockin it how it is =)! Good thing about using the dock connector is I get video out incase I ever feel like adding tv's... Which I highly doubt I will lol!

Update on what I'm doing...
Ordering all my parts to do the timing >=| damn plastic guides!
While we're in there I'm putting in a lce cam and a new water pump
Aem wide band magnaflow to replace my Flowmaster that has a hole
New inner and outer tie rods for both sides new ball joints
Getti my front end on and Nrg steering wheel
Can't wait to ride without a annoying ass sound in the front lol!

 

you know what might work? have you seen the gorilla stand ( i think thats what they are called?) things for cameras? they have all the ball joints so you can flex it any which way and it will stay in position. it'd be cool to mount one of those like 2' tall just to the passenger side of the shifter and have the iPad on the end of it so you can pass it back and forth between whoevers riding shotgun or whatever. that way you have a nice looking permanent solution that doesnt block your vents and it probably would be less awkward to use too. it'd also be fairly original! i have never seen anyone mount one in a car besides when they use them for GO! cams. then you would just have to worry about stray AUX chord until you go bluetooth

 

lol naw i dont think ill like this the vents aren't a issue to me there pretty much useless... I never use my ac or heat. I like how it sits now where it looks like a part of the interior not a add on and it isn't awkward to use its just to bright to use at night. With a aux cord I wouldnt be able to charge it or get video output like i do out of a dock connector. It can be used from both sides but if someone trys to change my song im shooting them lol! All in all its dope just wish it wasnt so bright at night... even with brightness completely down I still cant see anything with it at night!

 

Ive been collecting parts for this thing still have the front end waiting to go on im waiting till after my timing is done and new cam is in! Also waiting on my NRG innovation fender washer kit =)! Decided to go with a smaller system a friend of mine had 2 lightly used jl w1s for sale so i jumped on those en i hooked another friend up on a install en snatch his mid bass speakers he had laying around Just need to do the sound damping before I start on the system but ill be building a 4th order band pass with a acrylic window! I got my timing chain kit waiting on metal guides tho the heavy duty kit didnt come with em -_-! Going with a lce mild cam new water pump and gaskets ect ect ect! Got a thrush turbo muffle since mine is dead going to redo the exhaust so the muffler is tucked under the bed and out of the way when i lay it down lol! When i wake up I place to pick up some tubs and have the engine bay tubbed! I also have all new ball joints coming theyll be here the 19th and im waiting on a email back from cando about control arm bushings so i can take my c arms to just powder coated!

Currantly waiting on all my felpro gaskets and moog lower ball joints to come I picked up my water pump today so all I need is my oil pump gaskets and cam =)! Ive been stalling on the tubs but where gonna get those in soon! Also trying to do shocks before tubs so i wont have to cut anything!

 

So about a week ago i decided we would redo the rear bigger notch bigger wheels standard 4 link bagged on bars shocks blablabla then i head out to a meet tonight and...




Isnt that bad got it home en itll be fixed tomorrow but deff time for a redo!

Wire tuck tucked some vac lines and **** moved the intake and battery deleted the charcoal canister moved the power steering

 

Trucks still running strong I love it! Officially on the track to tearing out the reverse 4 links and adding some other ish

 

bro, you should use a wire wheel and clean up those, pulleys, that rust stands out hella against the chrome...besides that its looking good!got my bags coming this weekend hopefully for the rear =]

 

Haha i was thinking about painting them but just wanted to get it back together u can only see the power steering one now that its all back together!
