    Hello, everyone.

Very nice site here. How old is it? I've been looking for a Toyota minitruck site for a long time now; there are a few things I want to do to my truck.

My truck is a 1988 standard cab, long bed and I am the original owner. It now has 185,000 or so miles on it since I used it for commuting for 11 years before buying my next car.

I found this site from another, Japanese Nostalgic Car. If you like old(er) J-tin, you should check it out.

I've been lurking for about a week now and I really like the atmosphere here. I hope I can contribute my share of knowledge as well!

    -Steve

p.s., the name MrDinkleman refers to the little teddy bear on Open Season...

    Errrmmm... no

It was a daily driver and it's been sitting for a while after it was retired from DD duties. I start and drive it once a week to keep the carb from gumming up (again). I plan on buying a house soon where I can put it up and restore/refresh it so, for now, it is just barely alive. There seems to be a problem with the 5-speed so I have to baby it while driving... :(

I use it for experimenting with stuff; I tried some of that "instant shine" crap they sell on late-night infomercials. Within a month, not only did the shine disappear, but it is now all streaked up and chalky looking. But, it looks like the paint underneath is still good. I leave it crappy looking to deter the thieves...

But I PROMISE to post pics when I start my refresh. I hope to do a body-off refresh so that I can paint the frame black just like when it was factory fresh...:D All new bushings (they squeak), brake job, rebuilt tranny, lowered, and a few engine mods.

    Welcome, Steve!

I'm the original owner of my '82 SR5. I was a junior in HS when I got it and then soon afterwards got my 1st job at Togo's sandwich shop. At HS Alumni events, my friends are surprised that I still drive my truck. It is indeed still a fun truck to drive (the go-fast goodies do help).
