ok, so i replaced my alternator a while back after it crapped out with one from autozone. after that, the belt started squeaking real bad and so i found out id lost a tension bolt. replaced that, and it stopped the squealing. worked well for a while, but now i am fairly sure something else is going out. possibly the belt or a ground or alternator im thinking.

    symptoms:
    1.
all lights dim/ flicker with any kind of electrical draw, especially while not engaging throttle.

2.the battery indicator bobs down when the lights flicker.

3.happens even with no other draw than just a turn signal.

    4. i can still drive down the freeway with cruise control on @ 60mph blasting my sub though! take that alternator! lol :nana:

edit: im thinking its probably the belt...

i agree. the first one they sold me flat out DID NOT WORK. took it back and they "tested" it and told me it was fine. put it back on, same thing, took it back same day and told him that if he didnt exchange it, id throw it at him. lol now my **** has a lifetime warranty.

in a perfect world, id be running a capacitor on my amp/sub and a higher output alternator.....buuut im broke! lol

I've seen a lot of rebuilt alternators have internal voltage regulator problems they just slap them together fast as they can and test good when cold but once there heated up they start acting weird

    Also test the battery !!

A bad battery will kill the alternator!
