So I'm a member of YotaTech also, and have a build thread going on there. Probably going to start a new one on here, but I'll just give you guys some info and pictures for now and start a Build thread picking up on whatever I do to the truck next.

My truck is a '79 regular cab. When I bought it about 6 months ago, it was in pretty bad shape. My boss backed our work truck into it, and did some serious damage to the driver side door/cab. So he decided to sell it to me for $400 if I promised to rebuild it. So began my project :D It's been in his family since 1979, so I can understand what he's asking. And hell, who doesn't love a project?!

It took me a couple months to find a good enough cab for it, and ended up picking this one up for $200 with a door, and glass.

After that it was on to removing the bed/cab and cleaning up the frame to completely coat the frame in POR-15. A very resilient metal coating.

After that we got the new cab back on

And about a day later I was driving her again!

And that is all I've done so far. The truck stopped running recently and I've just been chasing the problem trying to get it back on the road. This is going to be a complete restoration so stay tuned guys, I'll start a build thread when this this thing is running again and I do something new. Next is interior work, so I'll probaby start there. Looking forward to being a part of this community :)

Welcome! I'm glad you kept your promise to save & restore this truck. This body style (RN3#) is the best Toyota had rolled off the production line - IMHO. After 31 years of owning my truck, I will never get rid of it. It's still turn heads out on the street & is still a blast to drive. The go-fast goodies help :)

Thanks guys, still have a long way to go. Right now I'm chasing some issues preventing me from being on the road anymore. Hopefully I can get this thing running so I can finish up my Zx6r build and just daily this damn thing til spring, and in the spring I'll just daily the bike and start the body/interior work. But like I said, I'll make a build thread picking up where I left off here with whatever my next mod is to the truck ;) appreciate the feedback though. Almost keeps you motivated to keep improving the build.
