Before we even start talking about aesthetics, have you talked to any paint suppliers about paint/primer compatibility? Maybe you should get a scrap door or hood, paint it up, and let it sit three months in the weather before you decide.

I've seen it done, and while it is novel, people don't stop where the chalkboard paint ends. Unless the truck is trashed already, I say NO.

my old buddie did it to his truck was kinda fun but you can have only so many dicks drawn on your truck before it kinda stops being funny and becomes a lame hores joke

I think you should do it if you think it would be fun. I've painted a few of my rides camo that I didnt want to fix up super nice and some people love it and some say it looks dumb. Do what you think would be cool. And you can get that paint is rattle can form in black. Just take a red scotch bright pad and dawn dish soap and scuff over the are you want to paint while wetting it with water. No need to get super crazy with the sand paper like the other guy did unless you have a lot of chips or clear coat peeling like he did. PM me if you have any paint or prep questions.

I understand what you all are saying. I am not planing to let just anyone draw on it without my supervision. And I know a dick will get drawn on it eventually. But it can easily be taken off. This is just temporary and I think it will add some character to the little guy.

I think, if you want to try it, why not? It can always be sanded off and re-painted if you want to change. And it would be really cool to get one of those 3-d sidewalk chalk artists to do something on the hood and take pics. Maybe incorporate your truck into the sidewalk art.

My whole truck is painted in chalkboard paint, but I don't let people draw on it..... I will let you know it's a pain in the butt to paint and a lot of paint. That's another reason why I don't let other people draw on it lol

I would rather let a graffiti kid go nuts on my hood and tailgate then chalkboard it.
