I picked up a 1980 2x4 for work since my dad swears by them. I super love it. Mostly stock, working on bringing the jdm into it. Here it is in all of its glory. IMG_20121129_171047.jpg

Welcome to the site! I totally agree with you & "not forgotten" about the '79-'83 trucks. I'm the original owner of my SR5 and will NEVER part with it. It's still a fun truck to drive with all the go-fast goodies.

Haha my bad. I make the mistake of refering to 79-83 as first gen, 83-88, as second gen, and 88-98 as third gen. Why? idk, that's just how i was introduced to these trucks. I'll try to correct myself in the future....

    I think the basic conception is '79-81 1st gen,'82-88 2nt gen, '89-94 3rd gen.

Stout I personally feel is seperate as is the Hilux. But thats just me!

In the off road world the above 1,2,3 gen is correct.

Yeah those are new lights, with angel eyes and projectors, i also got 4300k hids to go in them. Its got 3in lowering blocks in the back, and crank ed down t-bars in front. I plan on giving it a rough restore on a budget. I used to mod Subarus and so i have some jdm left overs. Like a micro suede back seat from an impreza and some 4pt harnesses that i plan on putting in. i put a 32/36 weber in it. The guy that had it before me put a street bike exhaust on it. But i plan on doing pace setters and them something custom all the way back. Any ways...

    Thanks for the welcome gentlemen.
