Still working! Well, I just couldn't leave well enough alone so after two shows the truck has been getting some changes. The engine has new headers, a Modified LT1 intake manifold, custom wiring harness, distributor, and an 0411 LS1 PCM. What this equals is a Gen 1 small block chevy, with a Gen 2 intake, and Gen 3 PCM. Also getting new exhaust, vintage-air air conditioning, and a stock Dash imported straight from Japan. Oh, and a STOCK HOOD!! The engine computer needed a speed signal and the Toyota was far from being anything useful so I deisgned and manufactured a reluctor wheel and mounted a Camaro Speed Sensor in the trans. I'll be updating this and adding more pics as I get it back together!
truck looks great, i forgot what it looked like since i haven't seen this build in a long time, but seeing it with the smoothies reminded me; a group of my friends went down to Pandemonium last week or two weeks ago, whenever it was, and got pics, and i remember seeing a yota with smoothies in their pics, was that yours?
I've been super busy, and really lacking on the updates. Truck is all done, kinda and got featured in StreetTrucks. Then I blew the trans, so I rebuilt one and need to swap them out. Not an easy task in a v8 mini though so I may pull the entire body and clean up alot of the under carriage at the same time.
Thanks for the update. 1st time reading this thread and really enjoyed it. Truck has come a long way.
HAHAHA, Awesome. Yeah I crashed wrapped it for the trip in the rain. You can also make out my T-Shirt seat covers
I yanked the engine/trans out, separated them for the trans swap and stripped the engine again. Valve covers are at chrome shop. Intake, throttle body, distributor cap, transmission, and some other parts are getting painted to match the truck. Getting her cleaned up for the World of Wheels Autorama in New Orleans!
Yes I do have it installed. I can't really get pictures of the inside unit, but the I used the tiny SD compressor and just bolted the condensor up front. Sucker blows ice, truly a nice piece and worth every penny. If you are worried about space I have the mini unit, no defrost, mounted under dash with my brakes, clutch, and LS1 ecm under there too. Its jam packed but it fits. Here's a pic of the unit off the net:
Got the valve covers chromed, trans built and blasted, and intake blasted. Getting them ready for paint.
Once I fail at thread updating. I've also listed her for sale to make room for the next build. For Sale, not On Sale, LOL. If it dont sell I'll find a place to park it.
