I love the work on here! I wish I could get some time and place to work on my truck like this. I'd love to get tubbed like that. Where are you relocating all that fender mounted stuff to?
Thanks for all the love guys I'm kinda pissed at the moment cuz i had this big update all written out for all of you when i hit the preview button i guess i forgot to hit post so heres a quick version for you guys but with more pictures! So I started cleaning parts and getting everything ready for the motor to go in but quickly realized i was missing a bunch of parts. I needed the plate that goes on the back of the head for the egr and coolant block off. I needed the other block off plate on the front of the head and I also needed a crank pulley and bolt. still not bad for being apart for 8 months. I ended up making the block off plate for the front out of some 3/8'' stock and I was able to get some of the parts from 22reperformance where jim and his crew have been more than helpful, These guys are super awesome and know their S*** So Yesterday a few friends came over and we got to work, about 11:30 everyone started going home but I kept on truckin' (get it ). I was up till about 4am putting everything together and making things a little more eye catching. And today we got the motor in and the trans mounted up now its just wiring, making sure everything fits and getting this beast rollin' ok so no for the pics Plate for front of head More to come soon
Nice work bro.BTW I am an avid Bud Light drinker and our beer bottles don't say FFL on them just curious on what that means. Are we missing out on some new awesome beer over here or what.Anyways nice clean work more pics as you go please.
I think the FFL was when football season was starting and everyone was trying to get their "Fantasy Football Leagues" started.
Fantasy footbal league roger that.I thought maybe Anheiser Busch was holding out on us islanders or something.Thats fuked up that I was really looking hard at the pics and thats what I noticed first.Alchi alert.
yeah it had to deal with Fantasy Football, there was a draft code on the back of the bottle where you could use it to trade players get a player stuff like that. We do have a local light beer that does promotional cans and bottles for different sports seasons, and its a new can design every year, pretty cool actually.
So I got a little more work done this week I got most of the wiring done and started the relocation of all the crap that bolted to the inner fenders (yes Nam i took pics just for you). I also got went ahead and put the in the engine bay when I realized I had more room than I thought. Im waiting on a few parts (ground kit, new intake tubing, wire...etc.) that should come in this week and I can get this thing started. Well dont let me bore you with the story, here are the pics..... Charcoal Canister this is coming off when I go through emissions. Coil, relocated to core support Battery tray Now with splash shield I Did make a hold down for it and everything just forgot to take pics of it all painted and finished
Dude nice and clean. What kind of over flow canister is that for the radiator?I'm sure you thought of this but you think the heat off the headers wont affect the battery?
Ive got a wrap for the battery and the canister is off of ebay Weapon R or something like that....it wasnt as cheap as I thought it would be ....$65.....but it looks nice its small and functional
Ya a heat shield wrap sounds good just in case.Canister does look nice.Looks like a part for a turbo set up.
Wanna talk about fake turbo set ups.....haha check out how I ran my intake And how bout the plan to do a cut out for some type of ram air? I will have the freshest and coldest air possible HAHA
She's ALIVE Ok so huge milestone of an update the truck runs and runs good! lets start off where I left off.....The motor is in the truck I still have all the wiring to do and I am now struggling with the trans bolts, blah de blah. Well I get it all together and I am ready to turn the key and i get about a 1/4 turn out of the motor and it locks up!!!! Did some searching called some peeps and Jim finally led me to a trans plate bolt that needs to be stock or shaved, I thought putting new bolts into this plate was a good idea but i was proven wrong. So now the trans has to come back out and go through another struggle. I get the trans back in last week and all then i had to get all the wiring done and start making sure everything had its place. For my power wires I used gold plated eye clips so there was no crimping wires or possible bad connections Now im ready to start the truck again and BOOM IT"S ALIVE see "VIDEO" This is open header and on first start (notice the hopeful sigh at the turn of the key) 3A0203C8-67BA-4A6F-9079-56709431638A-5153-000008F03A74A9D5_zps98c7bc99.mp4 Video by gilpet79 | Photobucket So today I got on an "Emissions Friendly" exhaust and got her all timed up and put it back together so on to more pics!!!!!!!!! So now im going to drive it for a little while because I miss it and then pull it back in the garage and work on some suspension stuff.
Done! lol So I also realized that my timing was off It turns out that when I put the jumper wire in the diagnosis port to time the engine the vacuum it did nothing. So really I was setting my timing way to retard and come to find out my TPS is not aligned correctly Can I say the write up on this seemed alot harder than it really was. Took me 3 tries with the volt meter before I got it dead on but now everything is dead on perfect and the jumper does what is supposed to when hooked up. In case your wondering here is the link to the write up: Toyota 22RE Throttle Position Sensor I will have more pictures soon when it comes out of the garage and its all back together in better light
