Been doing some searching on the bed bushings. There is no bed bushings!! It's not a cab area where where ride comfort is an issue so no need for bushings. There is a stock rubber piece that goes between the bed and frame I'm assuming for noise. Obviously these get worn out....Some guys replace them with any rubber piece they have on hand such as an old mud flap or radiator hose and some guys remove them and just mount the bed straight to the frame.

When I looked at mine one side has the rubber under the frame....I think this is why my bed is just a tad crooked. Going to try and fix this today.

Got the bed as level as I can get it. Decided to just take out the little rubber pieces and just bolt it metal to metal. Also played with the torsion bars to raise it a little up front. I can't believe what a ride difference it made. I only raised it MAYBE an inch.

Opened up the drums to check on the shoes. Needs new ones soon...but cleaning them got rid of the squeaking.

The big mod for this weekend was the black grill and bumper. Not gonna lie getting the bumper to fit on there was a pain in the ass with those 4x4 fenders but I got it and it looks great IMHO. Like I said before it's not as perfect as the chrome one was but I like it better fo sho. I think the TOYOTA in front is sikk!

    Off with the mirror bumper!!

The black does look much better with the theme you are going for. Some tweaking is needed but nice though. Would of a good time to clean and paint the core support.

Mine is similar to that one. I have 3 support rods that kind of give it a slight bowed look. It can be a P.I.T.A to close though when it's real cold outside. That leather shrinks in the cold.

    Thanx for the feedback guys.

Yeah the one i ordered also has the support rods but it also has 2 settings for hot and cold weather to help with the winter shrink effect. Im sure it will still b a PITA.

I wish my Legacy build moved along this nicely...

Yesterday some goodies came in. Got the Energy Suspension cab mounts, the Extang Tuff Tonneau cover and most importantly my 22re valve cover decal!

I pulled the cover out and laid it over the bed to make sure it's the right size which it is. I'm not gonna throw it on till I finish the bedliner project. Should be done this weekend I think.

These were a great purchase IMHO. I will def. get another set for my 4runner some time down the road. It was super easy to install and made a huge difference in ride comfort.

Here is the old vs. new front cab mount.

Someone has def. messed with the cab mounts before because a few of the bolts where cross threaded and a few even broke.
Thank God for the spare nuts-n-bolts collection...that just so happened to include spare Toyota truck body mount bolts! :waytogo:
The mounts I took out where not as bad as I thought they would be but they still needed replacing.

The engine bay just looks better with that dang decal. I love it.

I mounted a Mag light the other day. Think I will mount a fire extinguisher somewhere as well. Got them both in the 4runner as well....ya never know...

    Can't wait to get that cover on. I'm a little embarrassed to say...but I ordered a TRD radiator cap...waited 2 months for it...and I ordered the wrong one....fukn aye...:doah:

Since the Tonneau cover came in already I really wanted to get the bed covered with something! I know I will be utilizing my bed quite often so unless I spend some real money on a professional job I know it will eventually still get scratched up. I used a do it yourself spray in bedliner from oreillys. It was around 10 bucks a can. It was cheap so I was'nt expecting anything spectacular. IMHO it came out....OK....it ran a lot on the sides but looks good on the flat level part of the bed where there is no drips.
Katie helped sand the bed in prep. for the liner

The next day the cover was a piece of cake to install as long as you the the instructions. So far I love it. Looks great in both high and low setting. rolling it up and closing it is not that hard and the bows come right out.

    Loving the bed cover.

I know you said you don't like the wheels but I honestly think you would like them if you were to paint the centers black.

Thanks a bunch guys. It's already come a long way.

The rims...I'm not willing to paint them. Black or not I just don't like them I guess. I'm not really searching for rims but I come across some nice ones I would make an offer. Nice job on the photo editing though! I appreciate your input man.

Just ordered new Reybestos drums, shoes, and brake hardware. That will be a nice much needed upgrade. I also installed a Toyota air filter and took out the K&N.

    Something random

Had time off work couple days and had too much time on my hands. I got bored and decided I wanted to learn how to install lights before spending a bunch of $$ doing a whole light cage on the 4Runner. Decided the pickup would make a good guinea pig. If I decide I don't like/need them I can remove them and throw them back on later if I need them. The point is I learned how to install lights and It's actually not that hard at all. I'm going to try and grab an OEM Toyota light switch at the junkyard. I think It doesn't look too bad. Their obviously not high quality lights but that can be changed in the future. They will be of some use come a winter storm in Chicago. :waytogo: Not sure the truck will drive any good in the snow....especially with a locked rear end...

Got my sound workin this weekend! Thank God...music on the way to work and back now I hated not having speakers. I got the 6x9s in the back with the amp. I have some old broken speaker covers on there till I replace them....they're hard to find now-a-days. 6.5" Kenwoods in the doors and 4" Kicker mids in the stock dash location. Pretty simple and doesn't sound too bad either.
You can kinda see the ugly broken speaker covers.

I'm pleased with the outcome of the sound system. Not anything spectacular but sounds clear and gets loud enough.

I picked up the RIGHT cluster from another member on here. Came with a spare tach and oil pressure sender. Gonna do that some time soon. I'd like to have a tach. Maybe now the temp. gauge will work to cause current one doesnt.

So other than that it's been raining a lot...makes the truck with locked rear fun to drive....Dangerous to....
