I was going to use the bottom end for my 85 4x4 but found that one of the freeze plugs had a hole so i ended up throwing it on an engine stand and just rebuilding the motor from the 85.

This is what got done today
    [IMG]

now i just need to weld it up but it fits decent all things considered

Well i finished tearing the bottom end apart to have a look at things and found some things that shouldnt be in there, pieces of the plastic timing guides which im assuming are the old ones because the ones that are on there now are newer, i also found out that all the rod bearings are warn down and will need replaced along with the main bearings. So that being said it looks like its time for a complete rebuild on the lower end.

Yea slowly but surely shes gettin there, as far as performance not a whole lot cuz shes's gonna be to low to try to go fast. Really just minor things LC engineering rebuild kit, weber 32/36, maybe dual springs, and a cam, header, full exhaust, short shifter... my next build will be performance driven tho so once this one is done ill get a thread on that one going once i pick up a truck for it not sure what year toyota it will be yet.

Well guys i guess the side of me thats driven for performance got the best of me, Ive been talking to Mike from LC Engineering and we've come to the understanding that within the next 3 months my 22r build is going to be starting and the first thing on the list is a stroker kit, then will be the stage 3 head and cam, followed by a set of 45mm weber sidedraft carbs, a 9lb aluminum flywheel with a dual comp clutch kit, and a 75 shot of nitrous amongst other little things to complete the build so this thing should be around 180 to the wheels off the bottle. Just thought id drop in and give an update let me know what you guys think.

Yup, your going to be running race fuel. i looked into running it but id like to keep mine on pump fuel since i enjoy driving and cruising. i may end up with around 10:1 personally with a wet shot of 75 or 100.

    You running 91 or 93?

Definitely would be fun at 12:1 cr. the nitrous would hit pretty good.
