can someone show me some picture of lowering blocks installed never seen under side of a dropped toyota and is it even possible to do a leaf spring flip on toyota pick up?
Remove the leaf spring pack and reinstall them upside down.... Probably gonna ride like crap and bottom out though.
so exactly how there installed but upside down? i mean i know thats what a leaf spring flip is but just never done it on this type of setup.
Onbolt the leaf springs from the shackles and hanger, flip the middle pin holding the pack together, reinstall the springs upside down from how they where. I seen a couple of hardbodys with flipped springs, they where really low but the ride wasnt so great
so today i actually went to flip the springs and i got everything apart bu one bolt.. the bolt and bushing on the front of the leaf spring if like stuck i mean seriously stuck i tried to get a pick fork under it and wedge it out nothing i used a pulley puller nothing metal hammer and some wood and swung at it for hours nothing. what would you guys do? I am almost to the point where I wanna cut it
try soaking the bolt and the area around it with penetrating oil or maybe some wd40 or something... let it seep in and try hammering it out. it might work cuz thats how i take some bolts out
On the front leaf bushings of my 4x4 I had to get a grinder with cut off wheel between the frame piece and the leaf spring and cut the bolt on each side of the leaf. The sawzall would barely get through the bolt. The bolt has corroded to the leaf sleeve so you can pound all day and it won't come out. Time for the grinder.
dang. thats crazy. i hope its not that hard on my truck, i have been thinking about putting the 3rd leaf back in to raise the bed up to keep from smacking until i can afford a notch. yall think its worth it or no?
You don't have to take the leaf pack out to re install a leaf spring into it. You can just remove the u-bolt plates and do it while the leafs are still attached to the frame.
