    how's it going gents?

I don't own a toyota pickup yet, but I plan on picking up an 84-88 2wd sometime next year once i've paid off my property tax and when tax return money comes in.

I am currently daily driving a nissan 370z and I plan on tracking it so I wanted to pick up a nice daily driver. I originally wanted to pick up a datsun 510 and swap in an sr20 or ka24, but I don't really need 2 sports cars. I've owned a few toyota trucks in the past which includes a 95 4runner, 97 4runner, and a 2011 Tacoma TRD prerunner.

I've got a few plans for the truck already, but I've never really worked on a truck like this. hopefully i'll be able to learn a thing or two from this site. My main goal is to be build a reliable, fairly quick, and decent handling truck for daily driving and some spirited driving.

First thing I plan on doing is to make sure the truck is in perfect working condition. I will have all suspension bushings, rubber pieces, rubber hoses and brake lines redone/replaced. Engine may receive a full or partial rebuild depending on its condition.

Once everything is mechanically sound, i will start working on the suspension. This is something completely new to me. I have never dealt with leaf springs before and i'll definitely need some help in this department. I don't want to be completely slammed to the ground, but i do want to go pretty low on 15"s. Something like this, but maybe a tad lower.

tricky part is getting the truck this low and still maintain a good handling truck. I know people auto-x these trucks. I don't plan on auto-xing this truck, but having a good handling daily driver is something I want.

Once the suspension is all sorted out, itll be time to give the truck some go. I plan on going with LC Engineering's EFI performance kits or their turbo kits. Leaning more towards the turbo kit. If i can make around 200hp to the crank, i'll be happy.

those are the important things. other **** such as the wheels and other cosmetic mods will come later. So that's that. hopefully i'll be able to learn a lot from this site, and by the looks of things, i'm sure i will. Maybe i'll get to meet some of you out at the car meets and what not. I try to make it to JCCS as often as I can as well so maybe ill meet some of you there.

    Cheers!

Welcome! Good luck with your search for an '84-'88 truck. It's nice to hear you have big plans for it.
