I will be purchasing a 93 toyota mini (stock) and I would like to work on it at home but would like to make some friends out here get together and work on the truck with someone who knows a thing or two. I am a car audio enthusiast and I could help out if needed. I will start the build once I get it in early February. So I hope to hear from some people!! Peace
hello from vegas! there are a very few of us on here (ToyotaMini) but there are more in the shadows lurking lol i could sure use some "sound" car audio upgrades for my truck. but its not a real "priority" for me. i'll be glad to help u out as much as i can, to the best of my knowledge. n im sure others here online can be of much help as well.
Whenever you need any help I am up for it. Love doing stuff like that. What have you done to your truck? It seems like Vegas would have lowriders all over the place but I don't see them often. Maybe I am in the wrong neighborhood. I am located in the lake mead - buffalo area.
nice. im in SW area. so far, just got the truck running solid. no engine issues. no sense in having a truck with a nice system that cant go no where lol the previous owner put in a cheepee Sony walmart deck n speaker package. looking to def upgrade this stuff. engine is all stock. did all tune ups with a few "upgrades". performance clutch. n lowered the truck a little. other than that, its all stock.
SW area. Near Red Ridge park. I am a disc golfer. Yeah the guy I am buying it from is a mechanic so he is gonna tune the engine up a little. something about a valve timing and exhaust issues. It is already low but I want it as low as it can go. This is my first truck so I am all hyped up because I always wanted a mini. The system I had in my car was massive and now I have no cab and no room. I cannot wait to figure out what I am gonna do. I might put buckets and fab a box in the middle of the seats or just but slim subs. for the time being I might throw the sub I got on the floor under the glove box. LOL. I might have some extra speakers. I am most likely gonna do fiberglass door panels and mount some mids into the panel. I need to get this truck first but I am too excited. lol
I'm up in the nw. If you fab up a box to sit between the bucket seats let me know. I just installed a set of 90-93 (DA) Integra seats. There are a few of us out here. Wife's uncle threw a get together for islanders of Guam and had 20-30 minis show up. Another meet will be here in the spring!
That would be great. I moved out here a year ago and all I see are these stupid monster truck looking trucks. I guess that's popular out here. I will be making a box once I get those seats in but I can't find good conditioned seats at pick a part. I am gonna probably have to redo the cloth on them. for the integra seats did you have to do any modification to install them?
One bolt lined up, the other 3 will have to be drilled. I also kept the integra rails & bent one OG the mounting "ears" to lay flat. When I looked in pic-a-part I looked at damn near anything that had buckets lol. But these seats I found someone parting an integra out and they were close to the stock tan color.
They look good. I was think of the same thing just looking for the smallest buckets I could find and throwing them in there since I need room for some subs. My moms ex moved out here a while ago and he knows how to weld so I am gonna give him a call but wish I could learn how to. I just need to see others do it and instruct me a little and I will be good. That way I could do the same thing and keep the rails and weld them to the floor if room permits. I have too many ideas and the truck is not in my possession yet. LOL. does your 85 have round headlights? That's another thing I want. 4 round lights in the grill similar to the older models.
No I have the dual squared lights. Pre-84 had the round lights. Yea I would like to learn to weld also. Now if you get the 4runner seats or the extra-cab seats from your generation, they should bolt in from what I've read. Probably check the truck boneyard on losse and lake mead.
welcome to the site... Im planning on doing some car audio stuff in my 84 as well. somebody on the site has a bomb setup in an 84 i believe, but I forget his name but you check out the today on my truck i... thread you can see his pics. Ive been thinking about round lights also, seen has on ebay but havent jumped on it. good luck with the truck, long as the engine is good your truck will be here for years.
I will be taking pics and video possibly for the round headlight conversion but I am doing something very out of ordinary. I cannot revile it until it happens but for sure it will be posted. It's not going to be direct by any means. I cannot wait since i love the round headlights.
Nope not yet. It was my buddy's truck and I was always saying "let me buy your truck" he always refused and laughed. Well he gave it to my other buddy plus some cash for a civc. So now I asked him if I could buy the truck. HE SAID SURE. I was so happy but then he told me he wanted to fix the motor up and sh!t. It was gonna take a few months. I could possibly swing by his place and snap some pics in a few days. By the way its gonna have 4 round headlights so It will look like boobies with glasses. OO===OO anyone from Vegas that welds? anyone from Vegas that knows body work? I need to learn these things and this truck will keep me busy for sure.
looks super clean. wish the body on my truck was that straight, no thanks to miguel, jose, german, raul, manuel, and hector.
Ok so I already put about $700 into the engine and I finally passed smog on my 5th attempt. Now i can concentrate on the visuals. I am going to get a second job so I can afford this conversion. I did a BJ flip with 3 - 1/2" washers and i got a 1.25" drop. This friday I will be installing 3" or 4" blocks and lowering the torsions. Possibly taking out a leaf. I want a small bouncy ride.
my torsions are twisted down, balljoint flip ( no washers ) and 4 inch blocks. doesnt bounce at all, yet lol. it is a bit soft when riding down 95 south after the spaghetti bowl. plan to toss 69 camaro shocks up front and go another 1/2 - 1 inch lower in the rear.
