Just about to start my recently rebuilt 22RE. I am not getting any spark. Checked grounds. Coil. And cap. Any suggestions? Also anyone know how to install the heater pipe under the intake manifold mine started tk leak but i cant seem to align it to install it again.
Truck started and ran before the rebuild. Anyway to check the ignitor? The FSM website seems tk be down where i would check torque specs
Well the ignition system is very basic on these trucks. Use a DVOM and check the connector into the ignitor to make sure it has power and a fuse isnt blown. If thats good go to the distributor and put your DVOM in ohm mode, dis connect the connector, put your meter across the connections and cranks it, if the DVOM connects and disconnects then the distributor is good and it the coil/ignitor combo.
my ignitor wasn't bolted to my chassis and it didn't spark. Bolted it down and boom, insta start does it turn over and what not?
Yes Cinn is right, did you paint the mounting point or not bold down the ignitor. I forgot to mention that its case grounded. also if your ignitor **** the bed I have one for sale in the for sale threads.
Turns over but no spark.i have fuel and compression. Any pictures of where the ignitor bolts down? I do not remember removing it but any help is appreciated right now
I feel like a noob here. Ignitor is the module on top of the coil right? On top of the driver side wheel well. If so everything is bolted down
Check the fuse box inside the truck(drivers kick panel)Ign fuse I think the top middle one 15 amp should be.Silly question but how did you check for spark?
Gor a extra spark plug and connected it while i had it out and cranked the engine then i used a screwdriver.
Just a update. Found the problem timing chain broke the crank sprocket was eaten up because i had it in backwards. Silly me. Fixed it and got spark and ran perfect thanks for the help guys
