I posted this build a while ago but put in the wrong place, so here it is again if you have already seen it.

I bought the truck already bagged and customized, but it was in terrible shape. The rear bag mounts were completely broken from the frame, and the only thing lifting the truck was the brackets hitting the bed floor. It wouldn't start at first, but that was just a bad plug. It sounded bad and there was only like 4 bolts on the headers so it had a bad exhaust leak. I bought it in February 2012, and my goal was to drive it to Scr8pfest 15 in Concord, NC; which is like 3 hours from where I live. I don't take many pictures while I'm working but here are some to give you an idea of what has been done.

Put everything back together. Got some new Chassis Tech Slamr' 2500s & 2600s, new LED taillights and clear headlights. Blacked out the bed. Sprayed down a white base coat and drove it to Scr8pfest. Still got a lot more to do.

Thanks. They're airbagit.com's version of Slam Specialties bags. Still has the same non-balloning affect and design, just cheaper.

Thanks for all the kind words. Now I need some help. After I drove the truck on a 300 mile round trip it has now started acting up. It did great for the whole trip, except like the last 10 miles. It started sputtering and backfiring, and was just very sluggish. I limped it home and as I pulled into the garage it would barely stay running. It idled very low and the whole truck would shake. If I tried to rev it up sometimes it would bog down completely and others it would rev to about 2500 rpms and was still very rough sounding. I parked it for a couple of weeks, then I replaced the spark plugs, distributer cap, & ignition rotor. It seems to do ok just idleing at first, but when I tried to take it for a test run, it couldn't even make it out of the driveway without it starting up again. It has 22re motor with manual transmission, aftermarket headers & intake, new o2 sensor, newer muffler, no cat. I'm not much of a mechanic when it comes to this sort of thing so any advice will be appreciated.

Check all of your vacuum lines....sounds like it may be pulling outside air from somewhere. Mine did the same and it ended up being a crack in the stock intake hose but I know that the vacuum lines are notorious for cracking as well. Hope this helps.

I'm no expert either but could it be a fuel problem? Clean the injectors, just replace them with new ones and/or fuel filter?

    Good luck.

This could very well be the problem. Try a new fuel filter and some fuel system treatment. If all else fails you may have to get your injectors cleaned. Its A LOT cheaper than buying new ones and if you search on here you'll find a couple places that do great work on injector re-works.

If I had to guess though, id say its probably the fuel filter.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, I'll try a new filter first. They're only like 15 bucks at autozone, so I'll see if that works.

Do a power balance test. See which cylinder is misfiring. Check the compression on that cylinder compared to other cylinders. You can't have a difference of more than 10% between that cylinder and other cylinder. Do a leak down test. Check spark plugs, plug wires, check for vacuum leaks, etc. Hope this helps. Also bad gas can make you misfire.

Well, filter didn't do it. After I put it on, I cranked the truck and drove it down the road. It did better until like 3rd gear then it would bog down again. I got it back home and started adjusting the idle (it seemed to idle lower than normal). Then I found a vacuum line with a cut in it. So, with the truck still running I pulled it off to fix the hose. Before I could put it back on the truck knocked off. Now it will not crank at all. I think I'm just gonna quit guessing and take it to a mechanic (got a really good one in the family).

After a few months of just sitting I finally started back on the truck. The problem that was causing so much headache was a cracked fuel line inside the gas tank. Put a new hose on and... problem solved! Truck is running good now. It should run like new after I finish tweeking things since it now has new plugs, wires, rotor, distributor cap, tps sensor, o2 sensor, fuel filter, and clean injectors. Thanks again for all the advice. Now its time to get back to work on this thing.
