if you are missing tranny bolts (bell housing to block) would that make the truck shake? not 1-2 like 3-5 lol
Well, if there was like only 1 loose one holding on maybe, but I would bet even if there was 1 tight one between it and the dowels it should be fine. Why did you go under the truck and find no trans bolts lol
Yes I agree danger danger there is a heavy force a against the motor and drivetrain (the weight of the truck ) especially from a dead stop . Find you some bolts a soon as possible to avoid a cracked bell housing or a damaged input shaft and counter bearing
so i went to junk yard and pulled out all 8 bolts 4 14mm and 4 17mm. got home and there was one 14mm on bottom and one 14mm on the starter, thats it and the lower one was loose. so i only had 2 bolts holding the trans on all this time, but the bolts were in there before. anyone ever hear of them backing out. i used a lil lock tight this time. incase your wondering all the shaking went away and drove it to the cruise night tonight
holy ****, did someone not torque them down? O___o Glad that fixed it up man, that's pretty dangerous.
Everyone knows you don't really need 70% of the bolts that comes with a truck. The factory just adds bolts on to raise the sticker price. Seriously, I'm glad it worked out. Good call on the lock tite.
1. clean all the oil, grease, rust, dirt, blood, whatever off the threads. Don't use anti-seize unless the FACTORY manual calls for it. 2. chase the threads with a tap/die/chaser if the bolt doesn't go all the way in by hand. 3. torque wrench!!! I've never had a bolt back out on me that was put in right and I've taken apart and reassembled a few engines, trannies, cars. Even without a torque wrench I've never had a bolt come out that was clean.
I only use the 4 17's two top two bottom never had a problem backing out and I dont use a torque wrench.
