    Another Update

So here we go with another update...
As some of you know I have been having some issues with coolant getting into the oil pan, so after I replaced the head gasket and timing cover...blah blah blah I was still having an issue. So I will be using my tax return to get my motor rebuilt by 22reperformance.com
While the motor is out I plan on cleaning up the engine bay a bit and tubbing out the front inner fenders. I also wanted a chance to redo my interior a bit so that will be going on as well

So far I've stripped down most of what I could without a engine hoist and making some good progress ON WITH THE PICTURES...

    And so it begins...

Got some 4wd fenders from V8 Titan!

    Inner fenders getting stripped

    no more radiator!
    And for the interior

    No seats
    [IMG]
and YES I am using quick roof for sound deadening and I am very pleased, Its cheap and is so easy to work with

Thats about it for now I will try to keep this updated as best as I can with PLEANTY of pics along the way.

Wow you have made great progress. Are you going for a straight rebuild or something tweaked for power? Keep up the great work.

    I've got some good news....

I got my motor shipped out to 22reperformance today and boy let me tell you how easy this experience was. Jim helped set everything up, I was faxed a BOL and the driver showed up and even helped me lift the SOB in the back of his truck

Now my question to all of you is....What should I do with my engine bay????
I was thinking of doing everything black (por-15) or color matched (white) to the truck
But I also wanted to incorporate blue somehow. Would it look good if only the fenders are blue and the rest is black?

    what do you all think?

Cool project, look forward to meeting you one day. As far as engine bays go... usually it looks a little more pro to color match to body color if you can, or go with black. Blue would be to busy IMO. Doesn't mean you can't paint the Yoda block blue or the valve cover, etc.

With that said, I've always painted my engine bays satin black to make the engine pop out a little more.

Holy Crap! It's been almost two months since I have given you guys an update.....Well let me just say I have been slacking on working on the truck. I recently got a new job with a significant pay increase so the parts have just been flying in the door. :clapping::clapping::headbang::headbang: but there is also less time for the truck  So here's a list of what I got:
22reperformance stage II motor w/stock cam (for smoother idle)
    New Radiator
Smaller battery for intake/batt swap (interstate honda)
    Belltech 3'' drop leafs
    beefed 3'' angled blocks
    Beltech 2" drop spindles
LCE street performer header (on the way :waytogo:)
    Injector rebuild kits
    Gaskets upon Gaskets upon Gaskets
    Bosch water pump
I know im forgetting some stuff

Other than collecting parts I have finished most of the interior, still need to put in the sub, amp and radio. I have finished the inner fenders minus some filler and seam sealer. next I will be preping the engine bay and getting it sprayed, I decided on a flat black to really let the motor pop

I know im breaking the cardinal rule of posting an update with out any pictures but I just got a new phone and alot of pics are on my old one, I will be uploading pics tonight and hopefully post in the morning!

Santa came early.. nice purchases. Rides gonna be sittin with a sick stance when thats all installed. Just a heads up, I completely forgot and still havent had the time to do it, but throw some paint on those spindles. Mine have a tone of surface rust, so I gotta find the time to pull them off, sand/clean them and paint.

i recommend rust-oleum's truck bed liner for your engine bay. its like 8 bucks a can (it cmes in a spray can or in paint form.) at walmart. shouldn't take more than 2 or 3 cans. its, black, looks nice, fights rust, doesn't scratch, and oil, coolant, power steering fluid all rolls right off it. ;]

    Little bit of an update

So apparently the state wants to see my truck on the road as much as i do and they gave me a deadline of DECEMBER 16th. The only reason it needs to be done is because the truck is still registered and I have already gotten more than my share of emissions testing extensions.

There is still alot to be done but I have all the parts to get this thing going now alls I need is the time. I was able to borrow a jet heater from work so i could paint the engine bay, I went with satin black. Got the paint from Eastwood.com and it was underhood black (ready to spray) I think it looks good!
I also bought some VHT Aluminium and VHT Black for all the brackets and shiz.
    More to come soon!
