been a working project for years now. I'll do a skinny on most of the the stuff i have done. picked it up for $300.00 it was sitting for about 3 to 4 yrs not started or moved, till i came along.
in the beginning there was a lonely little truck with out a friend.... then here i come to take him home and give it a bath Little did it know it was fixen to be operated on like a frankenstein......
git it's heart working and then on to the body. went with the basic drop at first. drop leaf springs with blocks and cranked down the torque arm. kept going lower and lower till i likes the looks of it.
now it was time to get rid of the cream. then dropped it as low as i could. i took out the tq. bars and shaved the bump stops down to 1"
time to get rid of the clear glass and add a little class painted the words and skulls then tinted all the glass to 20%
ok, i was setting static for about 8 to 10 mo. then one day i was going over some railroad tracks and got stuck. my truck was just a little bit to low and got hung up. Kinda of a strange feeling....
so commence to cutting and welding bagged the f. and ran with it for about a year then crap happened.
crap i jumped ahead a little I dragged the crap out of this, i didnt know what else to do with it and why it was there. then i added a little bit more meat to it so i could drag some more. vid.^^^^^^
then, some guy hit me in the side and gimped up my bed. and not to long after the timing chain went out and i fig. it was time for a complete rebuild. the bigger parts in the bottom of pan. sent to motor and head off to a good friend that builds race motors and got it bored 20 over and motor blueprinted and beefed up as much as possible with out having to run high end fuel.
and sense the motor was coming out, might as well take full advantage of it. got the hinge setup from a Buick and cut and fitted it. slap the motor back in and on to the next.
and before you guys rag on me, I did a 2link with and different way to keep the side to side movement with out a pan-hard bar. something i thought of and fig. i would try. if it doesn't work then i will go with a pan-hard bar. And i should be getting my gas tank soon, then it will be on the road again.
Normally people just bag their trucks because it looks sick when they're laid out. but i guess that's an acceptable answer. cant wait to see more progress, the truck looks great.
this weekend is hooking up gas lines and mounting the tank and i hope to add to the list electrical. if i can get that done then it should be running maybe not street worthy but running at the least.
ok for those of u who are wondering about the alum. box. i got a local boat co. (Southfork Alum. Boats) to build me a air management box to keep my stuff dry and free from all the outside elements. it coasted me 2 cases of beer. That's also who i got my gas tank from. that coasted me a repair kit for there air compressor. bartering is a good thing.
