well, shes my pride and joy. bought her back in february with the 15' rims, static drop, and 4runner conversion done for $1900 . also, had a sony cd deck, 600w alpine amp and 10' 1000w pioneer sub. shortly after i bought it, she was unfortunately STOLEN from my old apartment. luckily, the jacker was a dumb**** and cant drive a minitruck. got stuck in an inch of mud, but got away with my deck and amp.:verdict_in:

    later that week....
    bought a new 1300w 12' pioneer sub
    1200w Volfenhag Amp
Dual deck (with bluetooth, that was the real selling point lol i hate exposed wires).

    :headbang:

oh, had 6x9 infinity kappas in the doors, but those blew, got some new pyles 6x9's for the doors, and they hit, plus they go with my batman theme. 450w speakers and they are yellow. did i mention only 40 bucks? cant beat that. thanks walmart. the only part of my system that wasnt bought at walmart was my amp (found it at a pawn shop for 80 bucks). also have 2 blue (its difficult to find yellow) LED light strips wired into my amp for more musical effect. my truck has recently been compared to a little rolling niteclub haha.
i'll post a video tomorrow night.

    soon to be done:
    shaved door handles
    Shaved Tailgate
    Alarm system
    Train horn
    bag it
    4link
sidepipes (might do a flame thrower too, for batmobile effect.)
    paint
    window tint
    yellow HID's
    recaro seats
    full leather interior
tonneu (did i spell that right?) cover
    drag bar

anyone know where to get new headlight aiming assemblys? my lights point straight down =[ also, my dome light almost never works (not the bulb or fuse) but comes on for minutes at a time when it feels like it. last thing, my cruise control only works when its hot outside.

PS, i really need a friend in western washington with welding equipment...lol

    Lets see some pics :)

As for the dome light, under what circumstance does it not work? Doors open or closed? Which position is the switch in?

It could be the door switch, it could be dirty contacts inside the dome light, or it could be a short in the positive lead wire. You can check all this stuff pretty easily with a meter. There should be a small connector on the door switch wire behind the kick panel on each side. If memory serves the wire is red. The switch is normally closed, so it makes a connection to ground when the door is opened. As for the contacts inside the dome light, you should be able to see them okay by pulling the cover off, but if not the assembly comes out with three screws. There is a plug on the back of it. One of those wires is the hot and the other is the switched ground from the door switches. You could meter everything with it installed and the cover off, including the switched ground. If your hot lead is coming and going, I would suspect a short somewhere down the line. I suppose the plug on the back could be loose as well.

Hope this helps. If I can help further let me know.

pretty much doesn't come on whether its in "on", "off" or "Door" position. i think it may be a dirty contact in the assembly as you said. it came on last night randomly while i was driving home because i have been leaving it on to see if it would work again ever. i think the door switches are probably ok.

I made a little diagram image for a trouble shooting procedure I plan to write up. Ignore the green wire, that's something I added for my alarm system.

1 = Always hot - 12V+ You should read 12V between here and chassis all the time regardless of anything else going on, even with the ignition off.
2 = Switched ground from door switches for when dome switch is in DOOR position
3 = Selector switch contact points. That could be the problem if they are dirty
4 = Constant ground to body for when the switch is in ON position. Check these screws and make sure they are tight.

My guess is that you probably dont have a hot wire short, since it would most likely drain your battery while the truck sat.

i popped the bulb out, stuck it back in and it seems to be working now. though the "door" position doesnt work. i dont have time to fix it though ( probably just need to look around under the kick panel). just finished repairing my bumper and left signal and noticed im missing a bolt on my drivers side shock and my tires are gouged =[

    damn autozone shocks :brickknock:
anyone know where to get a good deal on bilsteins, Teins or Konis?

Truck looks good man. Keep it up.
You should go back to that dually Toyota and pull off the sway bars. Those are gold on here.
When do you think your going to bag it?

oh, PS wondering if i couldnt take the brackets and bags and everything off a mazda b2200? i found a few on craigslist as unfinished projects for between 600-1000. i figure the bag setup alone is about that much right?

not sure, but i'll look later today. they are just adjustable locking roof racks. the ends slide to whatever size you need, than clamp down and lock them in and your good to go. as far as clips go do you mean the clips on the ends of the racks???

just took my truck through the car wash and the roof racks mess up the seal on my doors, so as soon as the wash started i got a consistent splashing of water to the face everytime the sprayers passed by either door. :duh::eyecrazy:

Pretty much air ride is universal and can be put from one ride to the next, its the bigger stuff thats usually not interchangleable without modifications. So pretty much all air ride components from another ride will work but the 4 link and control arms, bracket might need to be resized or cut a bit but they should generally work. So if you can buy a fully bagged project for say $700 Id say if the air ride componets are new or in good shape and depending on whats all there then do it and part out the remainder of the truck and make some money back!

    made a trip from tacoma>centralia>whites pass>yakima>back over whites pass>centralia>olympia>tacoma>port orchard>tacoma again

well, when i drove over white pass the second time, i drove thru a wildfire (pics later) and it did something to my alternator or wiring because i broke down on the freeway right outside of tacoma with no juice in my brand new red-top optima battery (awesome battery, made it like 500 miles with no alternator powering it).

next day, after i get her jumped and limped home....
take alternator off (thats a bitch on these 22re engines, it has to come out thru the bottom) go to autozone, have it tested, alternator is still good. so now im like fuuuuuck, wiring issue.
put the damned thing back on, now im thinking its the wiring on the back of the alternator (the 3 prong clip) because whenever i take a sharp turn, my e-brake and battery lights come on (alternator failure indication).... anybody else had this issue before?
