Ok so I bought some universal 2" lowering blocks for my 93' just went to install them and the centering hole for the bottom of the block to the leaf pack is far to small due to the larger centering pin on top of the leaf springs. Also the centering pin for the top is way to small to properly center the axle. So how have you guys solved this?
You need to drill the hole inthe block to fit the leaf pin/bolt or sand (with hand grinder) or file the head of the leaf bolt down a bit. And as far as the block pin/axle hole goes, there is usually some play there, it shouldn't be a TON of play, but some play is normal. Just make sure to have each side of the axle either pushed forward or back when tightening. They are never a perfectly tight fit, play is normal. Also, pay attention that the pins on the blocks aren't so tall that they contact the axle tube before everything squeezes together when you tighten the u-bolts.....to 70 ft. lbs or just good and tight! I like to paint the u-bolt threads and nuts black so they don't rust and then make a little white strip on the rear of the nuts so I can look under by eye and know they are good & tight. This pic is from a Ready Lift kit w/o rear blocks where the leaf bolts they supplied were too big to go into the hole and I had to shave the head narrower w/hand grinder till they fit.
