As the title says i got laid off about a month ago. So what better time to start a new project? So after a week at the beach i went to the local junk yard to find a donor. Two days later in 100+ deg weather with hand tools a big ass hammer and pry bar i have a frame.
WOW!!! sorry to hear about the lay off, but in another aspect i guess there is no better time and way to stay busy than to start a project...
Yeah being laid off sucks hoping to get called back soon.lol but for now this will be fun. A buddy of mine traded me the 2jz-gte 5 speed and IRS for a broken Polaris I got for nothing! Also doing all the work there. So its going pretty good. Lots of trading goin on got a used greddy intercooler for helping a friend set up at a truck show over the weekend very last moment. Hoping he will be able to help me out he is a dealer for hks turbosmart... long list but who knows. He can be a pain in the ass and I don't want his shop taking credit for the work my buddy and I do.
And i though no body was really interested... we got some work in on it over the last week I'll post some pics up tomorrow. Kind of a big pain in the butt as this just dose not just slip in and we are redoing all the air ride. So needless to say there has been a lot of fabrication.
as i promised here are some more pics! start of the motor mounts i know it isnt pretty at the moment but it is getting the job done for now. had to get something in there to figure out where the new trans mount will go. so now that that is all in time to weld it all up i know i need to weld in a channel for the exhaust
Thanks for the big pics!! Looking like Your making some good progress. You getting in some good hours with not working?
Of course we are interested! Looks like its coming along quick, You and I are basically building the same trucks except I'm going static with coilovers. Looks like we're both going with a W series trans as well, we'll see who grenades one first Keep up the good work, its giving everyone else motivation!
Yeah I'm doing as much as I can unfortunately I'm waiting on my rear to get back from getting chopped I'm bringing each shaft in 3 and a half inches. I don't want to build the back half until I get them back. Yeah man that drill press makes life really ez.
