For some reason I can't get gas into the tank of My 77 chinook with a gas can or a funnel. Fills up fine at the station though. Trying to add some Alcohol to pass emissions but it keeps dribbling out. What gives?

How far down does the funnel go compared to the pump nozzle my 88 has a small hole above the flap for runoff but I'm sure it goes past that might wanna poke something far down as u can . That's kinda weird cause normally gas pumps have a extremely sensitive cutoff feature if it senses any back flow or fluid resistance

This funnel is going in at least 10 inches. It's one of those metal ones with the flexible end.

Sometimes if you pass the breather hole on the fill tube it will create a back pressure. Found this on newer cars, might be the same problem.
