I cant really remember what started it but for a while now Ive been getting vibrations or wobbles from the front, mainly the driver side. Hits around 60mph+ and just has a steady tempo, 1..2.. pause..1..2..pause 1..2.. pause..1..2..pause so i thought it had to be an off balance wheel.

New rims, New tires, Balanced, Alignment, Nothing..still wobbles

The tie rod had been recently replaced and I dont hear any ball joint squeaking or anything..

Someone said it could be the rotors warped making it do that, but its when I drive not so much in braking..

i lowered my truck? could a bad shock do that?

I'd raise it up and put the front on jackstands. spin everything, physically look and inspect everything.

How much did you lower it, Kev?

Cin I put a 3" drop on the front.

hmm bad wheel bearing.. makes a lot of sense. The guy who did my alignment even said everything was tight. I shook the wheels when I had it jacked up but i couldnt feel anything, it like HAS to be the bearing.

sorry to double post, but does anyone have a good D.I.Y. for this? It looks straight forward from what I see, but I'm a little unsure.

I was gonna just try to pop the barrings out with a mallet when advanced didn't have the puller tool at the time, but should I really have it? should i borrow the balljoint remover tool as well? I ask because in some D.I.Y.s they pulled out the spindles and other they didn't.

are they factory wheels or after market if they are aftermarket is the hub centric correct? does it sit on the hub or do u have a space around the hub? if u have a space it could be the wheels not sitting wrigt on the hub... just a thought to consider i have the same problem but it goes away when i put my factorys back on...

Jack the truck and turn the wheel to see if you hear bad grinding sound.

When you jack it up you will have to spin it 60mph to see if it wobbles since it doesnt seem to do it until you reach 60......Just dont get it up to 88mph or it will go back in time....,,,,,Joking.....Sounds like Bearings to me!

Since the new tires... Can u see or feel (with your hand) any unusual tire wear?

I had a noise i was tracking for a while. It ended up being a rear wheel bearing on its way out.... I replaced all my front brakes and bearings thinking the sound was coming from the front.

Finally stuck my head out the window on a quiet road and put it in neutral and thought "damn im retarded!".

Just saying, Nothing is a sure thing when tracking down car problems.... U might rule something out that could be the problem.

I've heard "But that part is BRAND NEW!" a hundred times... haha

Hey I think I figured out the problem.......

-__- I felt so dumb when I finally spotted that...

The alignment shop I took it to must have missed it just like I did, because when the truck is jacked up the arm go back down and the shock sits back in place...

I already ordered a new lowering shock set from belltech

But I guess what must of happened was after I lowered everything the stock shocks were bottomed out and when I hit one of these pot holes it must have punched it all the way and ripped off the bolts. (we have alot of road construction in my area right now, I try my best to avoid, but theres no escape...)

The new steering dampener shock is coming in on monday so I could try and rule that out at least -__-

How's the tire balance? Easy enough to swap front to rear and see what it does.

I've been so busy with work and doing the sound system that I still haven't solved this problem..

I installed a new steering dampener that was like twice the size of the stock blown one, but still I get the wobbles... The weird thing that I notice is that it doesn't always happen, and it also seams to get better and slow down the faster I go?

I have a loose washer on my bumper valence, when I drive around slow in my neighborhood I can hear it rattling quietly.. What I dont hear is anything knocking around, scraping, tweaking, nothing to explain my shaking..

I think the next step is to try what the guy at the shop said in the first place and do the brakes.. He said it could be the rotors that are so warped they are giving the wheels a wobble..

Check your drive shaft to if they get hit hard enough they'll become unbalanced

Bro you could totally be right... I didnt even think of the driveshaft but now it makes so much sense. Im having so much trouble finding a problem in a front when it's probably been the driveshaft the whole time. The more I drove the more I could feel the vibration was shaking the whole cab..

I'm gonna jack it up when I get a chance, but assuming it's not too badly damage.. How would I even get that balanced?

I read somewhere it can be done at home with hose clamps....

I'm sure there is some place around or near that can check it assuming that is it the hose clamp method is something of a maybe or maybe not u can toss a few on there and see it couldn't hurt I've also herd guys using stick on wheel weights u can proably score some for some cash at a tire shop but this is just another suggestion to tracking your elusive problem what condition are your factory steel rims in they also warp
