Hey guys, I'm living in Folsom right now and just picked up this 89. Plans for the near future are paint, tint, power locks, alarm, and a few more speakers :)

Crappy picture I know, but I'll post up more soon.

Wow looks real sharp. Did you paint the bumper? Also looks like mustang wheels.

    Welcome from the 408!

For your power locks, you can use an actuator and make it work off the alarm. What % tint are you planning? I have 20% bronze on my back window. And years & years ago, I had 35% on my sides. After getting fix-it tickets, I pulled off the tint so I'm no longer a target.

And, more speakers are always good. Get a good amp so you have enough power for clean sounds.

The bumper isn't painted... Yet! Yeah I think the wheels are some type of knockoff bullitt style.

I'm just going to go 50% on the sides. I tend to get pulled over a lot anyway so I don't need any unwanted attention haha. I'm going to have the locks installed by the same shop that is doing the alarm. Do most guys do door speakers and then some behind the seat? Anybody have a good setup for putting a 12" sub in the cab?

Is the bumper in primer then? Did you do it or buy it that way?

Yea the bumper is primer and the bottom black part looks like its just bare plastic. I bought it like this. Anyone know of a good paint shop in the Sacramento area?

I used to run (4) 8" subs behind my bucket seats along with 2 mids & 4 tweeters. It was an AWESOME setup and the bass really kicked. I just got tired of not being able to push the seat back so I had more leg room. Nowadays, I'm running (2) 6 1/2" 3-way & a 4" coaxial with a Kenwood amp. Good enough for me.

Even with 50% tint on the sides, you still run a high risk of getting pulled over especially from CHP. My cop friends say, "any film on the sides windows are illegal." It's been 15 years and I've already learned to do without, but my truck did look cool with full tint.

I've always liked tint on the side windows of our trucks, but CHP seemed to have their own agenda. Pulled mine off almost 20 years ago now.

Have you already added an amp?

You truck is coming along well!!!

The wheels are 17x8, I'm not sure on the offset. Iv'e been thinking of going with a pretty dark green, similar to the Dark Highland Green Ford put on the Bullitt mustangs. Someone suggested the new dark green that Toyota has, I'll have to go check it out. Any suggestions? It's still up in the air haha

The wiring is all set up for an amp and subs, but I haven't added one yet. Any recommendations? I know I want to do a shallow mount sub, I was thinking a 12"?

I would suggest either a Rockford Fosgate or a Kicker amp. Are you planning on mids & tweets?

I had (4) 8' subs in my truck in the early 90's. My truck was BAD-A$$, but it did cut into my leg room. Are you planning on a custom made box for the 12"?

I can't remember which thread it was, but I think i was the one that suggested the toyota color. the flake in it is very unique. like the base is a real dark green and the flake is almost a bronze or a gold.

    alpine also makes good amps.

That's what I'm trying to figure out right now. I'm not 100% sure what direction I want to go with the stereo. I definitely can't have too much of a cut down in leg room, I'm 6'3" so I need to be able to put the seat pretty far back. Do most guys end up doing door speakers?
