Hey guys, I just found your site here and looks to have a lot of good info, just wanted to introduce myself. I just picked up a 1988 4WD Xtra cab and am looking forward to getting it running well...then cleaning up the inside and outside. It's pretty beat, but I'm looking forward to the challenge. This is my first truck in about 12 years, so I am excited to be back. I've been a Honda guy for quite a while having owned several CRX, wagons, hatchbacks and my wife's 09 Fit Sport. I've done about everything from rebuilds, to swaps, suspension, brakes, cosmetics...although I know next to nothing about Toyotas and this will be used as primarily a work/farm/hauler truck. I'm hoping you guys may be able to point me in the right direction of a repair manual online (I live out in the boonies), and/ or an engine harness diagram. I've found about 5 harness plugs that aren't plugged in right now...and the damn thing still runs. Has a hell of a time until it warms up, but does ok after that. Built like a tank I spose... She's pretty ugly, but I love her already. Already ditched the cap as I just picked up a fence I couldn't fit it all on with it back there.
Hey Dub, Welcome to TM, TONS of knowledge here with the right atmosphere of those who keep things stock to those who do CRAZY modifications! ALL are great sources of info... You will need to post pics, the site is ful of pic hores and they will give you cr@p for not posting, regardless of what condition your machine is in... Hook it up! Cheers!
Hey thanks for the welcome man. Here's a few more shots from when I got home from the 4 hour round trip picking it up... Got some free parts... Yup, I drove 30 miles like this... Also, found an online repair manual on autozone.com that seems to be pretty good. Even has engine wiring harness diagram to print off that -should- help find where the hell this empty plugs go. | Repair Guides | AutoZone.com
