Just got my 88 back from the paint shop. New base and clear coat and spray in liner. I know most of you guys prefer the slammed look, but I will keep the height pretty close to stock. Unique since you don't see many of these in pretty good shape anymore. Enjoy
Thanks, I have a set of refinished Turbo wheels for it that I am going to buy some tires for in a few weeks. I didn't care for the original check striping but I have always liked the 79-83 2wd stripe that came up from the door bottoms and went back towards the rear, just not sure how they would look on this model. I will figure something out in time. any more comments or suggestions appreciated.
Nice truck. I'd put 2" blocks in the rear and ease the torsion bars to match. Still keep the stock ride but it'd look better in my opinion. Stock sucks.
I think it looks pretty good clean and simple . O and love those tires I have them on my 2001 gmc daily driver
Looks good! Them turbo wheels will make it pop. Keep the same size tires tho as if you go lower profile it will create a bigger fender gap. I'm interested in those stock steelies if the price is right, pm me if you plan to let them go...
I would personally add the turbo wheels and the factory SR5 stripping for that year in the color it came in from the factory, I'll bet someone would offer you a pretty penny for that truck in that shape, what kind of shape is the interior in, plan to restore it as well? You've got a great looking truck!
VERY nice! Agree about putting the stock striped back on that thing and getting rid of the fog lights. I am all about the originality factor myself. At times, I sure wish I had a newer mini, or at least newer than a 78, it is impossible to find parts for that thing. Barely enough to keep it running good so creativity and research is a must! nice truck though! I dig it! cheers!
NICE !!! Something 'bout that one that looks freakin' awesome just the way it is ... Keep it that way ... Might go as far as adding the factory stripes but that's it ... Great job ...
Thanks for the compliments guys. The interior is in real good shape already. I am adding a tilt column in the future and a short throw shifter possibly. Where is a good place to find factory decals ? I have seen jamesdean and they are good looking but expensive. I am not in a rush as I will not be using it as my DD since I put Hagerty's collectable ins on it. I didn't think the fog lights looked that bad but maybe I will reconsider. Even though I am not into the low low look alot of you guys like I must say that some of the workmanship and engineering that I see on here is ultra impressive. 22R88
