How do you have the pods attached there. I dont see any screw holes? Also on the bed..... what did you use to hold it up underthe bed you put in?

The bed uses the stock mounts still. Part of the original bed floor is still in place.

The door pod attachment is a trade secret.

Just kidding, I screwed them to the door trim from the backside.

Thanks again for the compliments guys, It's been a lot of work, but it seems to have paid off. I really like it, and I'm getting a lot of compliments around town too.

So how are all your wires ran into the door?

Behind each hinge is a small hole into the door. There is one cable going through each of the two holes in the door. They exit the firewall in the harness grommet inside the fender.

Can you speak more about the LED circuit and how you lit the gauges?

Yes. The gauges I got had the standard all glass blade type incandescent lamp for illumination. I figured that they wouldn't match the dash (as I intend to go to LED there too) and they would be on at night, possibly affecting my night vision.

So I bought three red square LED's from Radio Shack with a forward voltage of 2.8 to 3.3 volts each. With those run in series and a possible voltage of 14.5 or so, using Ohm's Law, I figured out that I needed a 100 Ohm resistor rated at 1 amp.
So power coming in goes through the resistor, each LED and then back to ground (a big loop).

I soldered the LED's into the sockets rather than deal with an adapter. I'll post up a pic later...

Awesome, i'm interested in this as I need to illuminate my gauges and wouldn't mind my dash gauges as well. Is is possible for a write up on the dash lighting when you do it?

Probably. I'm not too good at remembering to take pics on projects like that, but I'll do my best...

Figured i'd give this little thread a bump, done anything to the truck lately, Lit?

Also, how did you like the application of that Duplicolor bedliner?

Not lately, I'm amassing all the parts for a MegaSquirt install, but that probably won't start for another month or two. I've been working crazy hours at work lately so I haven't had much free time.

And the bed liner went in nicely once I ditched their provided roller and just went to a $0.97 chip brush.

Just an update, I got the PLX wideband and MegaSquirt MSII. Trying to decide where to fit the gauge for the wideband without making the interior too busy...

Got the PLX wideband installed with the new DM-6 gauge. I guess the only downside to buying a brand new device is that if they have problems with it, you're likely to also. I'm sending the gauge back to have it replaced, the OLED display lasted about 4 days before conking out.

I'll post pics of the gauge location when the new one gets here.

How has the MegaSquirt itself been coming along?

Man I always loved the truck... I like the raised floor still keeps it some what functional.. Might be to late but you should have built a hidden drawer system between the two floors. or maybe you did and its hidden to the naked eye :)

No, I wanted to build a storage space, but the floor supports eat up too much space between where the old floor was and the new is.

Nam, MS isn't installed yet. It took some time to work out all of the wiring issues. I've finally got everything worked out and am waiting for the opportunity to get it on the dyno for a baseline.

Well, a little update for anyone interested. I've decided that the engine is in need of a rebuild. I've ordered all of the parts from LC including a master rebuild kit, ARP headstuds, intake and exhaust studs, tune up kit, new valve springs, H beam chromoly connecting rods, and forged JE low compression pistons. I picked up a block and crank from Javier over in Tampa, and that and the head I had are at the machine shop awaiting parts for the final hone.

I did a basic port job, touching a couple of problem areas in the head, the biggest being the lip just above the bottom of the valve seat in the before shot, but forgot to take an absolute finished pic. You can see the difference though, I also didn't have long enough carbides to get all the way in the back, so it's still a bit rough, but it's better than it was.

I also got the manifold and turbo flanges to build my log manifold, so I'll get started on that soon. I'll need to index the compressor housing, but that's about where it'll sit.
