cool picture that truckrun.net did of my hilux at Bring The Noize 2012 and another $2k wasted on the truck lol flaming river waterfall steering wheel, stainless tilt column, billet wheel adapter, column drop and floor bearing. stainless DD joints and DD rod. the wheel is darker grey like my wheels but the flash made it look lighter. classic instruments "classic white" 6 gauge set, mounted in the billet specialties 6 guage trim style insert. i want to get them installed already but i've been sick as hell, and when i'm not sick i've been working on the 4runner swap.
The wheel and 6 gauge set is sik. I wish i had your skills to do something like that to mine. Truck is going to be bad a$$ bro.
Who are we kidding the truck is bad a$$ now!!!! When it's done it will be definately be a ego crusher!!!!
lol thanks guys. but it's still nothing but a $200 toyota with a bunch of parts thrown in i put the column in today. still gotta do some firewall work and install the joints.
its from flaming river and yes they have it in black. you'd have to change your column or have a custom adapter built to use one though. WaterFall Wheel - Black - FR20150 - 575 - 5482
i had to make the firewall hole 1" smaller. i had cut it to use the stock column, wish i would have waited lol. and i changed the inlet/outlet on the radiator and got the stainless tubing fitted and installed.
ran it for a bit to see if i was getting water in the oil 1uz in 73 toyota hilux - YouTube and an old man near me that builds race cars and hot rods gave me a bumper to start with off a 62 chevy corvair
been toying with the lux a bit. i got the corvair bumper narrowed about 7" and took out some of the V shape. i'm going to take out a bit more as i'm still not happy with the look, but here is where it's at right now. i also bought some pvc pipe. it's getting glued to the dash and some door panels i made out of 1/8" hardboard. after it's all in place i'm filling the center with some .019" aluminum sheetmetal and gluing that in. once it's all bondo'd and smooth the man that gave me the corvair bumper is going to make a mold of everything, and pop some brand new panels for me. i'm pretty excited to have them made. and i also took the safety belts from my wifes old 89 toyota cab, and i'm installed them in the hilux. they even match the flaming river steering wheel leather so i'm quite happy with them. the frontier seats that were in the 89 truck are also going in the hilux. the porsche seats i had are going in the shed.
thanks yeah man i flip flop all the time on the projects. i really want the runner done, but i'm a driveshaft and finishing the headers away from driving the hilux so it's hard to let it sit.
Get the hilux done. Has so much more done to it an you only need a little bit more then you can make room for the chop top haha
i had my old high school shop teacher machine me a maf sensor mount on his bridgeport. they sell these for the 2jz swaps on ebay but couldn't find anything for the 1uz sensor. just need to drill and tap it, then tig it onto the intake. also bead rolled some steel to fill in the area of the fenders i cut.
been playing with the headers a bit on the truck. i finally got the drivers side ran down to where the collector is gunna be. i need to clean up the passenger header flange a bit and run that side. then pull the tubes and tig all the joints and put them back in and tack weld. then pull the cab and motor and finish weld the headers. lots of work lol i also picked up another project. can never have too many projects lol
