Sorry for I am a noob, I recently purchased a Toyota pickup 1993 2wd. I bought some mesh wheels from a friend they are 15x8 (I can post pix when I can use my computer sry I'm on my iPhone) well I was wondering, I put the rims on the truck to do a test fit and the bolts on the hub seem too small. What should I do? Is there any type of lug nut that would help me get these rims on my truck? I have looked at some mag style lugs but idk if any of them would help or what size I need to buy... Help very much appreciated... Sorry if this is a noob post... =\
it sounds like you need extended thread lug nuts, I believe the thread size is 12mm x 1.5 so something like this? ET Conical Bulge Lug Nuts 12x1.5
He said bolts not nuts so I am assuming he means the studs are too short. In order to change the studs you are going to have to take the hub off, push out the old ones and push in the new extended studs. Getting new nuts won't help. You'll still have short studs. There are lots of videos on youtube about this.
I got these rims from a friend dont know where they came from. He sold em to me for $150. They will be polished and Id like to paint the mesh area bronze, they fit but the stub/bolt barely comes out thru the holes. I found these lugs, would these fit? I heard about extending the bolts but I would like to avoid that route. That will definitely be my last alternative if there isnt any other way.
Is the area where the lugnuts meet the wheel flat or is it tapered like on a regular wheel? If its flat survey says it does in fact require the mag style lugnut you pictured.
Yea the area where the holes are flat.. I'll probably go ahead and order a set of the mag style lugs... Hopefully it works
Studs not bolts =] they are easy to replace if necessary and fairly cheap. Just use a big hammerto get them out, then just run a nut with some washers behind down on the stud to press back in. diggin those rims btw.
