    New to the site.

Here's my 95 pickup that I got for $100 from a friend who thought he had hydrolocked the motor, turned out to be a badly blown head gasket.

The day I started the build:

Ordered LC Engineering's master rebuild kit, Street Clutch, and Street Performer Cam & Valve Spring Kit:

Pulled the tranny for a wash, then forgot to get a picture of the finished product:

After that, I took off the intake manifold, exhaust, and unplugged the wiring harness, which I also forgot to get pictures of..

After the engine was stripped of its intake, exhaust, and wiring, I pulled the old, suspected hydrolocked 22RE.

Once the motor was out, the teardown was ready..

Got the old head off, and the pistons/connecting rods out.

Removed the crank, got the block pressure washed, installed new freeze plugs, and painted the block with high temp gloss black.

Once the block was prepped, I honed the cylinders.

The rebuild kit came with new pistons, wrist pins, and wrist pin locks, so I installed them onto the connecting rods.

A buddy of mine had a BRAND NEW head sitting in his garage that he didn't have any use for, so I got that for free. Here it is before I installed the new valvetrain.

    After the new valvetrain.

Once the head was rebuilt, I installed the crank, pistons, new timing chain guide, and new lower timing sprocket.

Then came the Head, timing cover, rocker assembly, and street performer cam.

    Intake manifold went on next.

Picked up a new PaceSetter header from Summit Racing.

Didn't get a picture of the engine going back in, with the tranny and all. But here it is installed.

Last photo so far, is of it in the truck in running condition. (a little editing)

Thanks man. I got it for $100 plus a trade for some 10 inch subwoofers, and a 250 watt amp.

Have you got it started with the Pacesetter Header on there yet? Was thinking about doing that same thing.

Yeah. I had to drill out the bolt holes on the egr tube, because pace setter didn't put the bolt holes on the header in the right spot.

They don't hang low at all. They hang above the bottom of the frame from the header back.

I've decided to go with the LS400 disc brake upgrade, because they're plentiful at my local wrecking yard.

I'm definitely considering going the 1uz route, over 4ag, based on cost for power.

Cool man, great job! Nice to see someone close to my neighborhood on here. I was playing on the same swap. I found a complete 1UZ at the Pick N Pull in Carson out of a LS400. Are you headed to Haywire this weekend?

I don't know what that is. Haha. And I've got to get a new lower intake manifold tomorrow, mine sheared the bolt head that holds the coolant crossover tube on.

Its a car and truck show in Hilmar, CA. Like 4-4.5 away this Saturday. Check the Event thread for upcoming events. There is also a show down here in Gardnerville.
