hello I own a 93 2wd standard cab short bed pickup and wanting to get some wheels!! I've read through a bunch of threads but the answer is still hazy to me lol I'm saving up for some ion style 171 15x8 wheels and don't know what the best offset to get would be?? I want the wheels to sit flush with the fenders and will probably run a 225/60/15 tire unless anyone has some better suggestions I currently have a set of xj stock steel wheels on painted black but they sit to far in much like the stock steelies. I have a set of 195/60/15 on them which is a little small for my liking but it'll do until I save the money for the Ion's!! lol all help is appreciated thanks
If you want them to sit flush than 0 offset aka 4.5 inches of backspacing is your friend! If you want them to tuck just barely under the fender, like me than you want +13 offset aka 5 inches of backspacing, Im doing 16x8's on mine with 6 inches of static suspension drop
awesome!! actually I would like the tire to tuck a bit in the fender well so I'll look for a set with around +13 or so! I actually have 3" belltech blocks but think I might get my money back and get a set off of a guy from here who makes them...can't remember his name lol. Id really like to get drop spindles and lca's and some leafs for our rear but that's alot of coin!! do you know where the cheapest place to buy wheels like those would be? thanks so much for your answer Sinister!
tirerack.com or discount tire...maybe a site called wheels next? Just type the wheels you want into a search engine and find which website has the best price. And make sure you look up offsets and backspacings to be sure your wheels will fit. I have had to do a ton of research to see what will fit mine, and theres not much out there unless you want to run spacers or have them stick out past your fenders! As far as drop leaves go summit right now is selling them for under 300 bucks shipped I've dropped my truck as far as I have by doing a balljoint flip and torsions in the front, and I built my own springs, made steel 4inch blocks, and redrilled my leaf hanger holes an 1 1/4" up and a 1/2" further back. Lots of work but I havent hardly spent more than a few bucks and it doesnt ride that bad
wow that's impressive and also I good price on the leafs!! I need to teach myself how to weld inside of my frame under my bed is rusted as a mofo. so I think in the future I'm going to cut it out and weld some plates in. I also think I am going to do the BJ flip and crank torsions and prob just blocks for now. most of my money is going to be in these rims and tires again mad props on all that custom fabbing you did that's nice!
man i just want to get that low....and I love satin black!!! I hope I can do mine that color eventually how do you upload pictures? I'd like to put a couple of mine up just to show what I started with? I'm battling the front main seal right now replaced it twice and damn thing is still leaking
I upload my pictures to photobucket and then post from there to here its super easy, and thats the way a lot of us do it. As for the tails I got them on ebay
Yeah, or upload them to facebook and copy the URL and click on the insert picture icon---> . Then paste the URL.
awesome I'll have to do that while I'm off this weekend and start looking for those tails! ive been looking online for the last couple days and I can't find the style wheels I want in 15x8 with +13 or even 0 offset so idk what I'm going to do know lol thanks guys!
