I know it is not that bad but im wondering at what point will they just total it ? anyways just wanna hear some thought on how much you think the estimate will be and if it will be totaled or not...nada says rough trade in is 1500 to 4500 for clean retail. truck is on the ruff side and 194k miles lol..
heres a few more pics, there no damage to the rocker but the door is dented in pretty good. also the inner fender is all tweeked under the fender, and the core support is twisted in.
First of all, sorry this happened to you. It's not a cool thing to see a Toy in that condition. Looking at the pictures from your 1st post, I was going to say fixable because it looked like all cosmetic damage. Now, looking and reading the 2nd post throwing the dented door, inner fender, & core support into the equation all leans toward a possible total loss. Generally, the rule of thumb is: if the damage exceeds the value of the truck = total. Again, sorry this happened to you. Let us know what your insurance says tomorrow.
The insurance companies will call it a total loss if the value to repair it is more then the kbb or general value on the truck. Best suggestion is get it towed to a couple Body Repair Shops and get quotes (even if you could fix it yourself) Because likely a Insurance company will only approve certain body shops. Sucks about your truck bro! Isnt this the truck you were gonna pick a theme for? :/
its cool guys ! dont worry, she will be back and better then ever ! im not upset at all. the only thing that made me mad so far was today at the light I noticed my horn didnt work so i couldnt honk at the people not moving for green lol.. anyways jaybe YES! trailer rims fit ! the look fresh as well ! if you can get a set I would buy them ! If I didnt have 350z wheels and tires already I would put a set on right now ! and Im going to do the work on the truck myself. Im planning on giving it an 04 front end. If it is totaled, im not letting them take the truck, I will buy it back from them. I already priced out my 04 front end and its going to be 940 for everything brand new delivered except for the tail light filler pieces.
That's good news! Save your truck and do the work yourself. If I was in your situation, I would have done the same thing. Looking forward to seeing the build-up.
well the insurance is pissing me off... I got a call today because our stories didnt match up... so the kid that hit me had his parents say they were driving, I guess the dad doesnt speak english and has the exact same name and the kid, so the mom called it in and told them a whole different story then what happened. wtf!... does that mean i wont be covered because the kid who hit me is not on the policy ???
Infact you should be covered because the kid hit you and not the persons covered. It'll go against the parents insurance and affect the kids driving record. I agree with rn34, they're still at fault.
Might take longer to get your money if they try to fight it. It shouldnt matter who was driving but if they are lying about who was driving you can bet the stories are gonna bet even better from there. Atleast they had insurance, the last 2 accidents I had the guy was uninsured who hit me.,....grrrrrr
sadly it is totaled they are giving me 2400 for it plus the price i paid for the door and the rocker panel... so Ill get around 2750 for it... its either they total it or I drop the claim, they said its 3800 in damage... also they said the state of florida issues a certificate of destruction if the repair cost go over like 80% of the value or something like that and they are not aloud to let me keep it or sell it to me ! but good news is Im buying another 89 single cab tomorow, its cleannn asss helllll.. interior is FRESHHH A/C is cold, 5 speed, and has a brand new head on the motor.. but the kid thinks its blown because he cant get it to run so he was going to scrap it for his girlfriend but im saving it and going to fix it and daily it... also just to throw it out there but I got a new full time job at ferman acura as a lot assistant but come next week they are starting me as an entry level technician and sending me to school to get certified ! so I will be finishing my ls swap in my blue 89 very sooon !!
Sad but aleast you made a few dollars on the truck and are getting another toy mini. Cant wait to see some pics.
