Trying to wire up tail lights after my cousins dog decided to swallow the entire passenger side plug and chew up all of the license plate light wires.

I tried to follow the wires on the drivers side. Everything works except the tail lights (reverse, blinker, brakes work)

Do I need to ground the tail light? There is 8 wires going to the passenger side light, only 7 going to the drivers side. Is that 8th one the ground? I tried grounding it and blew a 15 amp fuse under the dash?

    Any suggestions/help?

Do the front marker lights work? if yes I suspect still wiring problem at back of truck, if no recheck fuses. let me know if you need the schematic.

okay so... the license plate wire and the tail light wire are the same color. the LP wire was shorting out because it was touching the body. f*cking dog is going to suffer in the rain next time.
