I need some info on the transmission. I read that u can mate the 3rz to. The 22r trans by usein the 3rz bell housing is this correct?? What year 22r trans do I need the use and what clutch setup do I need.

Any help should be most appreciated.

 

Yup, you just need the 2RZ/3RZ bellhousing and any W-series transmission. I helped a friend put a 2RZ in his 85 4x4 and I believe we just used the 2RZ clutch as well

Any G series or W series post 84 will bolt right up to the stock rz bellhousing.

We just used the stock '85 tranny/Tcase

 

Also, do you already have a 3RZ? If not I would look into a 2RZ, slightly less power from the get go, but can handle boost much better if you decide to go that route.

 

^^yup 2rz are animal when it comes to boost. But it still gonna be better than a 90hp 22r

 

my stock 2rz has some balls man, it will let the tires loose with my garbage auto trans lol ! my 22r stock had like half the power lmao
