I was just wondering, Is there anyone that has a wright-up or a build-up on 3.4 Swap on a 2WD toyota truck? I've been searching everywhere and I cannot find anything, is there a reason?

    Thank You

My cousins friend built a 87 pickup with a boosted 3.4 in it, runs around 13s at the strip, still tunning her up. He jus sold it to one of my friends.

I'm at the stage of gatering information and parts right now... I was looking into 1jz swap and even 1uzfe... But with the Toyota Recall on tacoma , I'll have parts for ever.. I'm not planning of giving it easy to the little truck :D

    I'm looking at a Pre-runner (2wd) 1996 to 1999, 3.4L automatic transsmission to put into a 1988 carburated 22r , single cab short box. I'm doing a full frame off restoration.

I read about the oil pan, oil pan part number 12101-65021 (88-95 2WD V6 pickup pan)

For motor mount i'm gonna build my own because the stock 22r are cut from the frame all ready

I was thinking about leaving the exaust on the same side has the tacoma, I'm going to put a fuelcell and in-line pump, in the bed... Is there any problem doing that?

In a 2wd, if you built the motor mount right, Do I really need to cut the hood or add a 2'' bodylift ?

Has for the Wiring , I plan on taking the tacoma dash wiring , cluster and steering (buy the complete front clip at the scrap yard) Just has to figure out what wire need power , plug the in-line pump and send power to headlight , signal light and brake line .. ( I know that part is tricky but I have a couple friend that are good with wiring.. :D)

Let mw know what you think....

And I'm still looking for a built thread. :D

If your planning in running it auto I guess the exhaust would work butt u gatta watch the torsion bar clearance
Your right on the body lift I'll need the 2in unless ur gonna run a scoop we actually made our own mounts but we still had to space the hood and we had steering clearance

As far as wiring goes u really don't need the. Complete chassis harness you need the engine harness that goes into the Ecu and there is another clip that goes into the Ecu which is the power ground and. Mfcel and oil light. What he did was send his harness to a company called toy only swaps..he also sells the crossover pipe oil pan, ect.... Really good company

Fuel system wise the inline pump is good or u can find a Efi sending unit assembly. We ran a inline pump

He makes the harness plug and play and labels everything so its way easier

Ok , I understand you , But I hate to pay 3-4-500$ I don't have gauges (I'm just gonna put mecanical one instead...) so , It's just question of getting it running. I'll see.

For my build , I have a ford 9'' with a minispool , 3.90 gear in it. Drop spindles in front with flip balljoint and rear 4wd leafs with 1 or 2'' bloc , will add ladder bar after...

What is the gear ratio in the one you are talking about?

He had the stock Toyota 2wd rear end wid the stock gears 3.90s spartan locker beltech drop springs front was stock and had drop a lot cause the weight. he gave me the drop spindles cause his rims offer was almost rubbing.

A for ur front I'd flip it ballpoints back stock cause that motor is heavy as a bi**h and I'd hate for your bolts to snap.

If ur wiring inclined and no how to read a wire diagram it's. Real simple it takes 4-5 wires to get it running I'm pretty sure it's 3-4 wire to power and 1-2 wire ground an itll fire right up

    Ok thank you!

Maybe he drop the torsion bar a little bit... because I dont think there is a different suspension between 4cyl and 6 cyl ... the 3.4 should weight about the same has the 3.0L...

    Will see .

thank you again for your reply
