I wanna juice up the sound on my auto 89 toyota pickup. Its just a pickup...2door, I dont race or anyting but I want a deeper sound. Any suggestions.
Any magnaflow sounds good, and most are straight through. The smaller the muffler is the louder it will be, the larger ones absorbe more high frequency sounds.
Ok...cool. And its funny, I cant price check online because the website doesnt give me the option for my truck...its just a TOYOTA PICKUP> 1989 automatic...and its...just a pickup. The mini...hmm...maybe I will just call mufflerman.
the last time i got a magnaflow was about 6 years ago to put on my old 4 cyl jeep wrangler. it sounded awesome compared to some flowmasters hooked up to 4 cylinders i've heard. i think that i paid about $80 for it. im going to be running a magnaflow on mine when i get around to putting one on.
here's acouple of videos that mite help--read the info below the youtube videos--it tells what magnaflow I used.It was more beefy after the intake k&n swap http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6nFzKu5kIlg
You guys have it all wrong, the smaller the exhaust, the raspier it can be. Get a 2.25" exhaust for the best, optimal performance. Here's an in-cab video, and my exhaust ends under the bed. I need an exit pipe. 1994 Toyota Hilux 22RE Top Speed (115mph corrected) - YouTube http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h8lD-n_3lL8 I'll post a proper driving video later.
Is there any difference in the ones that have the inlets offset compared to the ones that line straight up?
Any muffler shop can make you an exhaust most of them Carry flows and magna flows as far offset vs straight thru I suppose the straight thru probably flows a tad more the offset ones they are for tight fits or limited space/ pipe placement ... As far as my opinion I prefer magma flow ....and borla if u got the money cause nothin sounds like a borla
Oh ok...thats what I figured. I went with the Magnaflow with 2 1/4" offset inlet and outlet. Should sound pretty good....I had one on my last s10 and it had a nice deep tone.
I believe a small portion of the flow and sound waves will be directed into the material of the muffler as it still flows through a straight exhaust. I say straight because of no chambers or baffles that mess with the smooth flow.
