Should I put the shell back on or leave it off? Little secret... It's gettin bagged next month, so I was thinkin the shell might give it a little bit of retro look with modern style

. . . I would have to go for OFF, but saying that, anytime you needed it, It could be put back on . . .

....I second that motion. (Off) It doesn't look bad with it on, but personally unless I absolutely needed to use one (securing lumber, dogs, camping gear, etc.) I'd rather roll without the added weight.

No shell. Unless you open its top, put a hot tub in it and fill it with naked ladies...

Majority rules!!! I like having it on cause it's so convenient to just throw stuff back there and lock it up. I think I'm gonna slap it on after it gets bagged just to see what it looks like and snap some pics.

It does look good on or off. But i would have to go with off for sure. The nice thing is that it is a flush mount with the top of the roof. I like that style more than any.

Leaving it on reminds me of back in the day when you could fit 2 peavey black widow DJ speakers powered by a kenwood 1020 amp! Rollin' down marine drive jammin' planet rock! :D

You ever walk down the street and see something that someone is wearing and actually be impressed that they were able to pull that off, yet you would not be caught wearing even in the comforts of your own locked bathroom?

All our trucks eventually bleed what our personalities are like - I think. :)

My siblings keep bugging me to get a shiny, color matched, flush bed cover. Which I think look really nice when I see them, especially on newer trucks. But there's something about my old PROTECT-O-TOP that just makes me SMILE. Like seeing my 70 year old grandfather playing with his RC cars and really taking it seriously, or going into his restroom during a recent visit to find VIAGRA in his medicine cabinet! OLD SCHOOL, yet FUNCTIONAL.

Personally, the bed cover does enough for what I need to store, if ever, so no reason to go BIG and throw on a shell. But if there ever came a time where I needed a shell, I'd be willing to throw one on - but it would have to be a late 70's early 80's shell, because I think they're really FUNKY (in a good way).

In short: need + what rings YOUR bell = what to do. :)
