Hey guys been a long time lurker on here but as you can see it's my first post.

I ve had a hand full of these little toy pickups. And I m starting a new build on one. But I was wondering if anyone has attempted an awd pick up using an 07' Lexus gs 460 engine tranny rear IRS. Lots of fab work I know but still a cool concept and as soon as I find a wrecked one I think I'll try it. Thoughts?

AWD doesn't do donuts, they do cyclones!

AWD would be awesome. I love my Audi. I've always wanted to put an Audi 5 cylinder in a Toyota with AWD. Big turbo, lightweight with 400+ HP.

I've been wanting to use the new Lexus V8's, but with an AWD system? that'd be very tough to fit in such a short front end.

You can probably pull off an EVO AWD setup or a STI setup.

I have thought about doing the subi, evo, swap and even boosted rb32. But all thoughs Parts are really hard to come by and expensive when you do. Lexus are all over and it sticks with the Toyota theme.

And the 1ur, 2ur and 3ur v8s all make uPwards of 400 HP just motor

yes they do. only issue is stuffing the v8 and the awd system under the hood.

It shouldn't be that hard I imagine I'll have to graft the front k-member into the frame of the truck then use the Lexus suspension.... Actually use the whole Lexus from just in front of the fire wall forward. I have a mkiii supra parts car Incan use the the IRS out of.

Idk what Sy or Ty mean

gmc made an awd jimmy and sonoma in the early 90's using a turbo v6. they were called the syclone and typhoon. they only made them 1 year cause the would smoke chevy's beloved corvette. very bad ass trucks. 1 of VERY few chevys i would own.

You guys forgot to tell him good luck finding parts for either of those GMC's. I wanted to do a conversion to an S10 I had a few years ago and the drivetrain alone was $3500, engines were running about $5000. Or rob a bank and buy one Im sure you could get one for about $25,000 maybe even in decent shape.

I always thought about using the mitsubishi galant or 3000gt vr4 setups those are legit

I have kinda looked into the 3000gt setup i was trying to stay with the toy theme but once I do some more looking I'll see where the prices are at and how loyal I am.

I haven't had time to go measure one but if you can fit a chev 350 in there or the other Lexus v8s then it should be fine. If I have to I could go to coilovers in the front to make more room.

Does any one have one they can snap some pics of?
