1993 Toyota pickup 2wd 120,000 miles purchased off craigslist for $1600 my first vehicle began restoration on day one.
btw this all began in july 2010 soo its been long over due to show everyone the progress. these beginning pictures are off a phone so they aren't great but it gets better as it goes. more day one dent repair paint stripping and pinstripe removing, cleaning etc worked for about a month in the summer to get the body to the primed stage, then had to just commute in her over the fall semester in the snow until i had access to a booth body was in pretty great shape. worst dent was here but not a problem topper did a little damage the grind door dings for days
sealing had to have a picture before the yoda was gone priming begins less cow like: gonna need a new fender.. or two the circus monkey hat has got to go pastic fender attachments are going too not okay water temp. stock one is out but idk why this is in front of the speedometer back to cow status before after.. much better ha no more monkey cap some roll on liner on the rockers inside fenders and bed to help deal with alaskan winter roads my new tires! just kidding progress on hold jl 10w6 behind the bench was awesome but had to have the bench all the way forward so i flipped it and made some cash miss placed fall shots did some 20% steering wheel covers are sweet ha snow melts in a peace sign. cool back to work in second semester senior year pans here my buddies runner progress on the gate good enough bed liner finished up body so overhauled the interior dynamat, under carpet insulation and then black car carpet stock cadillac rims
ordered a viper blue and custom shade of gunmetal grey for a two tone started with door jams its beautiful big day have to do these too of course base! masking of the two tone and following my putting in some accents for a custom look YEP! my favorite one on the the gate clear begins
found out painting is a lot more fun when its someone else truck but it went great, very stressful though but glad i did it boss 18's off a mustang almost new condition for $700 it was a great craigslist deal, they were in new condition and the grey matches my trucks. rolled on some bedliner finished the interior aswell its my baby say it turned out pretty good for my first truck 5% all around third taillight shave turned out great with a little help didnt need a lock on the gas tank putting in some led's festoon hp led taking everything apart to get in and replace stock bulbs with cold white led bulbs pretty proud of it. the runner is now in progress but not before a little mudding is done paint in the sun, black pinstripe is on btw
The black stripe really made the two tone pop. I like the interior as well, not a fan of bench seats but to each their own.
Very nice clean truck bro. Where did you get those floor mats? They look like they are made for that truck?
thanks everyone! -i kept the bench because i cant even remember how many times i have had 3 people in my truck you never know when someones gonna need a ride it just wouldnt be practical to get rid of it because i commute in this truck -and yes the pinstripe made the two tone look almost animated i love it -the floor matts are made by husky liners and yes there are custom fit. about 100 dollars though
You going to leave it at that ride height or going to relax it down a little? Also, wouldn't mind some night time shots of the interior with the LED's you used. Did you add a second dome light at the back of the cab?
i plan on a small drop this coming summer. and my interior lights are on the fritz lately. Both of of the bulbs behind the instrument cluster started strobing like mad all of a sudden, and then they go out. i plan on replacing them soon
Did you have them twisted enough? Maybe they weren't making good contact and when you would hit bumps they would jiggle around? My arms were small enough that I could reach up behind my gauge cluster without pulling the dash, scratched the **** out of my arm but it was a lot faster than pulling the dash.
