I am in the process of lowering my toyota more and replacing the brakes and shocks over the winter. In the process i was thinking about replacing the chrome with black/gunmetal-wheels, grille. etc. should i stay clean chrome, or give it the meaner look with gunmetal or black wheels and black grille etc.....let me here your opinions yota enthusiasts! I used paint in photobucket to mock the blacked out look

autozone has this paint kit called chrome shadow. tints the chrome and leaves a mirror finish. almost nickel plate looking. it will give you the best of both, black and chrome all in one! saw it on guys 4x4. he had sprayed his chrome step tubes, bed rails, mirrors, grille, bumper, and wheels with it. if that paint is easy to mix, i would paint grille the white color, and the wheels whatever that top color is.

    Like the chrome better.

Not a big fan of black rims, the features don't stand out like every other color.

Hey there, I have to say that there is something way to cool about chrome...
    I would leave the chrome.
The truck does look good with black, but if it already looks great with the chrome.
    Why change a good thing.
p.s. -What size rims and tires re you running.
I have 17" Bullitt wheels w/ 245/45 17 tires and wheels are always easy to change, so maybe try the wheels 1st, -then see what you think about the truck.
    Good luck.
