Ok I pulled off my timing chain and when I went back I made sure everything was in time and now the drivers side has no slack and the passenger has all the slack. Just trying to figure out how if te marks are lined up ehy I'm getting no tension on the drivers side. Any help would be appreciated

you may have to pull it apart again. I would take the valve cover off and rotate the motor by hand ( breaker bar on the crank ) and check to see if both colored parts of the chain add up to the dot on the timing gear.

I did pull it apart again and rechecked everything. I put all back together and spun it by hand even though the chain wasn't tight on the drivers side and everything is good. Spun it over twice and everything lines up

you didnt over tighten the chain tensioner did you?? if you do it will bind. only other thing i can think of is the natural tension from it being pulled along way in the direction you are spinning it. spin the crank over counter clockwise and see if it tightens up on the other side.....

I made sure and had all the torque specs and didn't over torque anything. Yes when I spin it counter it does tighten up. Luckily my buddy that works for Toyota called me back and we got it fixed up, but thanks guys I appreciate it.
