I am theinking about getting a header. I heard it was the cheapest performance you could add to these motors. Which header is one that people have used and had good results and were did you purchase it? Thanks.

Before you get a header you may wanna get a cat back.
If you already got an exhaust then from what I heard LC headers are good then Doug Thorley's. Or vise versa

lce header is nice and well made, but pricey.

theres a couple others out there..... doug thorley is ok in my opinion but lacks power delivery past 3000 rpm.

i forgot who else makes one but if you can find a used downey 4-1, its the best header i ever ran on any 22r/e truck i ever had.

I have the LC Pro 1 5/8 header from LC. Big difference vs the street header (bigger primaries and a burns style collector). I do have to admit I have no experience with any other 22R/RE headers besides LC.

Ive used several different brands Downey was the best but they are out of business. Summit racing has an affordable one its not too bad.

the downey ones are still around from older trucks, some get taken off and such. about a month ago i seen a full downey header, catback and cat go for 250 bucks here on craigs from someone doing a motor swap..... had i a need for one, i would of picked it up in a heartbeat!
