Okay, after all my time looking, I finally found BOTH Smittybilt bumpers I'll need, but my question to anyone who owns one currently - How does the front mount?

I might get mine next week, depending on when dad's free to come with me and get it, but I've never looked closely enough to one's mounts and I know for a fact that it doesn't mount on OE brackets

I had both front & rear on on 86 & on my 88 , seems that there just bolted to the stock mounting points!!

/\ My inspiration here, a replica (with a few flaws) of the BTTF truck doesn't seem to mount to the OE brackets... maybe it all depends on the type of smittybilt bumper used, I've heard there are a few...

I should definitely know when I pick 'em up, I know the rear mounts like an OE.

Bolts via the front body mounts, and an "L" bracket from the frame to inner mounts. Uses the little black plastic tabs and long machine screws to mount the turn signals. Let me know if you need pictures. Have one on my 84.

this is correct i have had 3 trucks that came with these bumpers but i recomend never hitting anything with them theay are made of thin tubing theay crush and also smash into the hood due to no upper support purely for looks
