Hey All...done quite a bit of searching and just needed some feedback on what going to give me the stiffest drop for handling (I plan to look at larger sways and torsions down the road). I don't even need quite a 3" drop so adding a leaf might be ideal. Option 1: 3" drop leafs no block. Option 2: 3" Iron drop block and possible add a leaf. TIA ?<AreK>?
you have a bunch of stuff you could do to stiffen the suspension 1. drop leafs (belltech has the stiffest, from what I hear) 2. drop spindles 3. SHOCKS 4. Addco sway bars (because they fit) 5. 1 ton torsions or aftermarket hope this helps
I saw one post where the drop leafs (belltec) are softer then stock. Saw another where you could build your own leaf stack or add one or two from a 4WD. I definitely plan to go with new shocks soon but need to make a decision on blocks or leafs...I'm hella raked with .5" wheel gap in front and...well stock in back Thanks for the reply<thumbup>
I have belltech drop leafs and they are much stiffer. Also i would go belltech drop spindals and B/J flip in front and maybe a small torsion turn. Then for the back i would go belltech drop leafs with 2in BEFFEDTACO blocks in back. Throw a 1ton sway bar under there and some 225/whatever/whatever tires on for more traction. Im not sure if 1ton torsions do that much but ive never tried it. Hope this helps
Bit the bullet and ordered some ductile 3" blocks. I was going to go drop leafs but noticed that pricing is for one....seems odd...anyway on a budget for now and just trying to get the truck level....improvements will come.
Ductile is nice but honestly BEEFEDTACO blocks are the best. Very strong. PM him and he will work something out for you.
I had my rear springs professionally de-arched and I had Monroe air shocks and and 3 inch aluminum blocks. You could jump up and down all you want in the bed but when those shocks had air in them it would not budge an inch. Like I'm talkin stiff.
Thats the way im going. Buying a little tank, compressor and air shocks. Put the switch in the cab and you got adjustable back end. Hoshposh on here has it done, plus seeing it work in person makes me want it more.
Got the rear blocks on last night and am lovin it. Have less than 1/4" wheel gap now. Going to loosen the torsions a half turn tonight and make is level FYI the Ground Force 3" Ductile blocks need the shackle pin hole enlarged. I used a 3/4" drill bit and then honed it with a stone tip on my dremel....
my rear end is like that monoleaf on 5 in blocks with air shocks tank and valves i suggest 4 valves for it prevents sway under low pressure
