    The 1974 Hilux needs some new shoes but the selection of 195/70 is not all that great. Anyone run 205/70R14 that could tell me if there will be any rubbing issues with the SLIGHTLY wider tire? Not that there are many running stock 14" rims. :eek:

    on my 79 i ran both 195/75r14 and 205/70r14 no problem on stock 14's. the 205's had very minimal rubbing on the inner fender during hard compression (off road or hauling junk in the bed) but normal driving they did fine

    Thanks for the info.

    Seem you can run a few different “stock” tire sizes.
    7.00-14
    ER78-14
    185R14

    Then you also have the 195/75R14s and 205/70R14s. SO many options!:drool:

    I had 205/70/14s on my 89. They never rubbed while at stock height. They were roughly 25" tall i believe. If u can get a 24" tall tire i think u wont deal with too many rubbing issues. Dont quote me on that tho..

    205/70/14 = 25.4
    195/75/14 = 25.5
    185R14 = 25.7

    I would suspect increase in width would cause the rubbing on the fender.
