hey guys, i think you have seen the Datsun 240Z's with the mirrors on the fenders, im thinking about doing that for my truck, since mine is mounted so close and so small its hard to see by turning my head alot

There's a satin black Toy in our gallery (pre-1975) that has them on the fenders. I thought they looked pretty cool.

i think the mirrors on fenders are more safer (easier to see) and more unique in a way

Definitely unique. I'd love to do it, too - someday - maybe. :) Right now I just can't get myself to drill a set of holes into my fender when there are already enough holes on my door.

Maybe once I've gotten to the point of stripping her down to metal and the bodywork is being done.

But yeah, at least on that black truck in the gallery, it looked great. Then again, that truck looks NICE all throughout!

yeah. it had a 5 or 7M motor in it too! wickedly sick!

as for me, idk what mirrors to put in my fender! plus i dont wanna drill holes too hahaha. as for the mirror, i think my stock one should be fine. i might spray it silver or just put a flat black on it haha. it's black plastic anyway

I'm still using my U-HAUL (stock) mirror. Already removed the passenger side one. I think tomorrow I'll go on a field trip to the local Pick-N-Pull and see what I can find. Even if it's just a temp replacement.

As for repainting your mirror....I just repainted my grill and headlight frames SATIN BLACK with Rustoleum and was really happy with how it turned out. I know it's plastic and can't really rust, but this rattle can stated that it can be used for plastic, wicker, etc. Plus, I like their paints better than all the others. Just my personal preference.
