SR5 cluster not working

    I just installed an sr5 turbo cluster into my 86 base and nothing but the speedo seems to be working. The unit appears to be in good shape. I will try to clean up the ribbon connectors where the harnesses plug in, but other than that I am clueless. Any suggestions would be most appreciated! Thanks.

    Slight correction on my above post. The indicator lights (turn signals, high beam, fasten belts, cluster backlights) are all working. No gauge other than speedo working now.

    Did you change your sending units to match your cluster? An example your base model had an low oil pressure light where as your sr5 cluster has an oil pressure gauge.

    For now I have disconnected the sending unit until I have a chance to swap in the new one. No damage done there as no signal is being sent. If anyone has a wiring diagram from an 87 sr5 turbo (the truck the cluster came from), I would greatly appreciate it. Any more info from anyone would be great.

    Update on the situation... I found a bad spot in the ribbon cable on the back of the cluster. Repaired it by soldering the break. Tachometer, voltmeter, and oil pressure gauge now working properly. However, the fuel gauge goes to full as soon as the truck is turned on even though the truck has just over a half tank in it (double checked by re-installing old cluster to check level). The water temp gauge is going nuts. It moves around a good bit while driving. At idle it appears fine. Seems to be reading a bit hotter than it should. Also, whenever I turn the truck to the right, the temp gauge goes up, when I turn left, it goes down. Any help is most appreciated!

    The patch u soldered might be messing wit it.

    I don't think so. Before I soldered it, I just ran a short wire to jump the connection and was getting the same result before. Was extremely careful with the fix.

    Wonder if those gauges are faulty on the cluster

    Alright guys, another update and hopefully a resolution. I continued to check out the cluster wiring schematics between the stock non-sr5 and sr5 clusters. Put in the new oil pressure switch and still no reading. Took the cluster back out and traced the differences between the 2. Long story short...I had to re-pin the fuel, oil pressure, and temp gauge connectors on the actual plugs themselves to match the corresponding lines on the cluster ribbon cables. All gauges now working properly. Only small problem is that when I flash the high beams, the temp gauge immediately pegs out, then goes back down when I let off. If I leave the high's on, the temp reading stays up. I have traced this down to a lack of grounding as I swapped 8 total pins around. Will run a jumper this evening to remedy this. Thanks to all for the assistance. If anyone runs into a similar situation, I would be more than glad to help!
