What speeds to shift an 18RC motor?

    74 short bed, gnarly tired Hilux
    I don’t have a tach in the rig and the whine of this little engine is unlike any of my other motors, so I have a hard time figuring out when’s the best time to shift into each gear.
    So what do you guys think?

    rite after the power falls of ,grab another gear it doesent really do you any good to rev it to the moon .
    you just use up the strongest part of the torque curve and go to the next gear and do it all over again just like with any manual transmission.

    but a good rule of thumb is 3 thousand
